Default Walther Q5 Black Tie - Finest Walther I've ever owned...

...and I've pretty much owned them all.

The Black Tie is one of the four new Meister Manufaktur pistols Walther is building. Its got a carbon steel frame and slide cut from solid billet steel. Its then Tennifer treated and finished with Stinox, which is a nice satin finish. The one piece wrap around grips are machined from a block of aerospace grade aluminum.

The new Dynamik Performance Trigger is possibly the best striker fired trigger I've ever experienced.

Even the presentation is top notch...

The Black Tie is hefty. It weighs in at 48oz with an empty magazine, which is 5oz heavier than my Q5 Match SF Pro on the left. The Black Tie is near double the price of the standard SF models, but well worth it, in my opinion.

Anybody have one of these or any of the Meister ManufaKtur Walthers?

That's seriously cool.

It's also funny how many folks have all been buying competition pistols lately. I just got an H&K USP45 Elite, someone else just got a Beretta 92X, and now you got a Walther Q5 Match SF.

Very nice. I've got an USP Elite 9mm. Great pistols

As for competition pistols, I've picked up a dozen in the past six months alone...

Walther Q5 SF Pro, Walther Black Tie, Beretta 92X Performance, CZ Shadow 2 Orange, CZ Czechmate, Pardini GT9, Laugo Alien, CZC A01-LD, Tanfoglio Stock Master, Atlas Hyperion, Phoenix Redback, and Rex Alpha

Of the dozen, which are your favorites (and why)?

I've got a heck of a lot more than these. However, out of the 12, I'd have to go with the Redback. Swiss quality is hard to beat and the gun is perfection.

I know you have a lot more than these twelve.

Good to know of the strong impression of the Redback (I have been considering one).

I recommend the all steel model rather than the light or ultra light

Don't you find the DA trigger pull kind of disappointing for a gun in this class? Shadow 2 Orange is a lot better, and even the lowly M9A3 beats the Redback in this regard.

Check out the Expert trigger for the Q5 SF. Until somebody comes up with something better, that's the reference for striker fired guns IMHO.

Also: Your collection is AWESOME!
