Default Old stags on an old Colt

An old cop buddy from Idaho sent me these Pointer stags. Pointer is probably best known for “Pointer Pups” franzite jigged-bone grips, supposedly used on Matt Dillon’s Gunsmoke gun. These are legit sambar stag, nice and heavy with good texture to them.

This old warrior .38/40 came with the original black bakelite (or whatever it is) grips numbered to the gun. Those are stashed away now. These fit perfectly and look like they been there since before The Great War.

Quite nice, sigp220.45! The stags and the Colt seem to match up well.

Here's an old S&W (1951) with a pair of sambar stags on for display:

Congratulations. That is a WOOHOOOOO .. for sure ! Gorgeous sambar - PERFECT FIT and are probably a much better feel in your hand than the factory grips. I love the overall VINTAGE look .

I can't resist showing my "keepers" (elk) for my 1924 mfg 45 Long Colt
