Default Mahovsky metalife ?

Hello all
I picked up a WW2 Star B refinished, im not sure what the finish is.
Matte on top of slide and maybe chrome on the rest.
There is a M stamped on bottom of slide could this be Mahovsky platings stamp/mark ?
Thanks

I have a Colt Lightweight Commander that I sent to Metalife to have the frame hard chromed. It was not marked by them in any way.

What you are seeing may be Roman Numerals. Star used them the same way manufacturers used assembly marks, to keep the parts together. Examining Star pistols that have been field stripped often reveals Roman Numerals that have been scribed on the parts. See those three lines on the bottom of the slide rails ? Those may also be assembly marks from the factory.

Hard to make out the markings on the left side of the tang, if there is a Waffenamt it may or may not be one of the guns from Bulgaria that had spurious markings applied.

He did some 1911's for me in the 1990's

They came out excellent, long lasting, easy to clean.

My sweat eats bluing and parkerizing

( none got an M stamp )

Call them...very reasonable prices...probably the best you will find.

It shipped to hendaye france to the german army july 1943 per serial number its a second variation, too bad someone plated this one. The WaA is barely legible.
