AK-47 Kalashnikov—The Movie.
I watched tonight and it was quite good. It’s no Saving Private Ryan or Citizen Kane but it is still a good story with some interesting gun design and shooting. I think many here would enjoy. Rented on Netflix.

I don’t know enough about the rifles to know if all the take-down, parts, manufacture, firing, etc. are accurate. In fact I am trying to remember if I have ever even handled or fired one, and I really don’t believe I have.
I did read an excellent biography on him once, but I don’t recall enough of the details to compare to the film.

Thanks for the recommendation. Interesting little movie. Just finished it.
Not heavy hitting. All a bit idealized and adapted for the screen. But the outline follows actual events in general. And the actors and the weapons were fun to watch.
It does come across as a bit historically naive and makes life in Stalin‘s Russia during the war look almost bucolic and charming at times. The brief, inconsequential scene with his brother was the only fleeting nod to the fact that things weren‘t really that relaxed.
