Hi all,
I just a had to post the results of my recent target session with my 1903-A3 made by Smith-Corona in 1943. I got the rifle from a friend who bought it in 1956 directly from the NRA. It's a sporter that was packed with cosmoline and had never been fired.
The 5/8" 3 shot group at 50 yards was done with Remington core-lok 220 grain factory loads. I think I found what this beast likes to eat!

That sir, is most respectable!

Thanks for sharing...great rifle...wish I had one.

Shot one in NRA Jrs, along with M1's... my first step up from small bore comp.

If I remember, used as sniper rifles by our military for many years....

Sir, good on ya. That skinny little front sight post is hard to focus on even with young eyes.

Semper Fi,

Ron H.

I've got an original one that my dad bought through NRA in 1960 for $18. I've still got the receipt too. It's also special to me because it's stamped RRA, for Red River Arsenal, where my dad worked and later retired from. I think since he worked in supply there, he was able to pick which one he wanted.

I won bets with my Rem. '03A3 received in 1960 from DCM shooting against M1s during marksmanship instruction for ROTC. The bet was the first 5 rounds in the black at 100 yards.

Still have the rifle and the receipt as well.

Regards,

Tam 3
