I consider myself a "shotgun nut,"
Not the kind that can break a straight 25 at trap or skeet, or collect all of the variations and gauges of the Model 37 Winchester...but I like reading about and attempting to collect obscure shotgun gauges and bores (14ga Greener,24ga, 32ga, .44 shot, 9mm Flobert, etc.)

Someone fill me in on the longer (2.875") 28 gauge shells made by Remington perhaps in the 1930's?
What gun were they made for? I have never heard of this before!

I am waiting for a history lesson.

There was a Model 12 in 28 gauge solid rib skeet gun chambered for the 2 7/8" shell (marked on bbl) on one of the auction sites not too long ago.

Thanks!

Now I know why I've never heard of it.
I don't know whether to be amazed or cry.

Andy, I just found this site while doing some research on a Browning A5 I just "inherited". I don't know if you know about it but it's a great site, www.shotgunworld.com.
