Default a fine day at the plinking range - colt 1911-22

before today, it's been about 6-7 years since i have fired any gun. a few days ago, i bought a Colt-Walther Government Model 1911 -22. i have been having an urge just to shoot a gun, any gun, and a .22 was enough.

so today, first i sent 10 rounds of CCi mini mags at some plastic junk. i couldn't hit much, but the gun worked fine. then, i shot 50 rounds of "Blazer loaded by CCI" it ate every bite. then i fired about 70-80 rounds of Remington "golden bullet". every single round fired with no malfunctions at all. this is one fine damn semi-auto pistol and i'm really looking forward to many days of shooting! tin cans beware!

the more i shot, the more my hands woke up and knew what to do and i began hitting what i was shooting at more.

i also fired 18 rounds of 38 through my SW 65. i've never had a chance to shoot it before today. i used to carry a 686, but that's been years. feeling that .38 buck in my hand felt soooo good!

Sounds like a great re-introduction to shooting! A 1911 in .22 and nice revolver, can’t be beat for the fun category.

I get to pick mine up tomorrow at Sportsman's Warehouse, then clean it and bring it to the range Wednesday. I'm anxious. I had a GSG 1911 22 but gave it to my son. Been looking for a replacement ever since.

I have read nothing but good things about the Walther (Colt).

Sounds like you had a great time. 👍 I have heard those Colt-Walters are very accurate. Affordable and fun, hard to ask for more.
I have a .22 conversion for my Colt 1911, it’s a hoot to shoot and saves $$ not shooting center fire ammo.
