Cz527 7.62x39
I got the Cz527 in 7.62x39 that I've been looking for finally.
I have a **** load of steel cased Russian ammo, import ban be damned, and only a Soviet SKS and Eastern German AKM, which are in excellent condition, to shoot it through.
The Cz527 is designed to shoot steel cased ammo. It handles great. and I tried the trigger, light and crisp.
The red optic front sight is nice too.
I hope to shoot it sooner than later.
Cool little carbine.

Those are nice little rifles. Very handy, and as you say, seem invariably to come with a really good trigger. Mine shot acceptably, but not better. It did not seem to be ammo sensitive. About anything I tried in it shot in the 2-3 inch range at 100 yards.
I eventually sold mine because I disliked carrying it with that danged magazine sticking out of the bottom of the stock and since mine was scoped I couldn’t very well carry it upside down. My other complaint was the CZ rings I could buy for it were way too tall and I thought spoiled the looks of the rifle. Hopefully none of this bothers you.
If you’re not handloading for it you won’t be chasing around trying to find 0.311” bullets. That was a problem, for me. Slug your bore with a .32 SWL cast bullet, or something similar, if you do decide to reload. I had hoped to get away from the problem with a Ruger American and, to my dismay, mine slugs about 0.310”. (Yes, that one is really a homely hombre. But it shoots very well.)
Anyway, sorry to be so long-winded. Lots of guys love these little carbines. Enjoy your new rifle and let us know how yours shoots.

I have enjoyed shooting and hiking with my CZ 527 Carbine. I think it is the lightest center fire rifle you can buy, mine weighs almost exactly six pounds loaded with sling attached. Makes for a nice hiking companion.
I took the wood stock off and stored it safely away, replacing it with a CZ synthetic stock for rough use.....

What kind of sling is that? It looks like a modified AK sling?

I am also a fan of the CZ 527 since I got my son the first one twenty-four years ago. The fourth from the top.

Quickdraw,
The sling is a Czech military sling, sold on Ebay as "Czech sub gun sling" or Czech VZ-52 sling. Very sturdy and fitting for a Czech rifle....

I have a CZ 527 American M1 carbine (I believe that's the full name) in .223Rem. I bought it years ago because it has the flush-fitting mag. No way I could own the 'stick out the bottom' version. Mine came with the two-position 'set-trigger' and is a JOY to shoot. I glass-bedded it and it's a 1MOA gun at minimum, usually better than that. I used it mostly for woodchuck hunting once I got too old to carry the heavier rifles. It's my go to when I rarely 'go to' these days.

CZ does not make a 3-round mag for this gun in 7.62, but they do make one for .223. That would solve many complaints about this model.
Mine is excellent. NECG makes a great aperture rear sight for it, and I have a 1907 sling on mine. It is a great shooter, and mags are available again reasonably priced.
