A new unissued SIG p239: German frame
I recently found a SIG p239 SAS model in great condition at the LGS.
I fell in love with this model so much that I went and acquired an unissued (new old stock) P239 that happens to have a German frame. (SA serial number).
The hammer, barrel, and slide release are plum colored (indicating an older formula alloy).
The frame rails are perfectly black with zero wear, as is the barrel and bore. The barrel lock up is so tight that it will slightly stay out of battery if I ease the slide closed. (I’ve heard the same be said of older German P228s).
Here are some pics.
I have on order some recoil springs and new mags.
I’m going to enjoy these two for a long time for sure.

Congratulations on a fantastic find.
The All Nitron SAS just looks good. I would probably have grabbed that one if I saw it even though I have several examples already.
ALL of my P239s have the SA prefix on the serial number
I do not know if they still have any, but CDNN had the threaded 9MM barrels very cheap a while back. 9MM feeds perfectly in the 357SIG magazines and functions without a spring change
I have run well over 1000 rounds of 9MM on two different 357SIG P239 pistols with no problems

Yes, they still have them but the price went up $10.

Bought a West German Sig P6 one year and well north of 1000 rounds and have not encountered any problems. Fact is I qualified every time I shot the course when I had to requalify.
Now my Sig P239 in 40 S&W has had about 800 rounds through it so far. Little more snappy recoil than the P6. The gun seems to like the 165 grain bullet as found in the Winchester white box ammo. Never reloaded for either the 9mm or 40S&W. 115 grain ball and 165 grain for the p239, Think sig made a big mistake when they discontinued the P239 regardless of the caliber. Frank

P239
I carried one in .357 sig as duty gun for almost 20 years. Liked it so much that when coworker offered for sale a 9mm DAK I grabbed it. Have full set of Kramer leather along with other leather and kydex holsters. The Kramer horsehide leather is still like new. Shot them in a week long SIG Academy class and kept right up with all the 226 and 320 shooters (except for more reloads - which is good practice in itself). Both have Hogue grips which TOTALLY changes the shootability of the gun. I hate the feel of stock grips. Great carry guns.

Great looking 239! I’m a bit jealous. I always wanted to try one of those (in 9mm) but never saw one locally and never got around to ordering a new one. Saw lots of them in .40 and .357. If the magazine capacity ninnies get their way, 239s could make a comeback. Congrats and good luck with your new pistol.
