Default Holster for My E Prefix High Power

This weekend's Atlanta Expo show wasn't a complete wash out for buying. My table neighbor had this post war leather for my early 50's FN pistol. Many of these guns went to British contracts (51-52-53) for MI-5/MI-6 use. The only thing I am missing now is the second SN matching magazine.

Nice High Power, my favorite configuration. The holster you have displayed I believe is W. German Police and appears to be for a Star Model B by the size of the mag pouch. Is there a 6 digit serial number on the back?

Actually it is a 5 digit like all E series FN HP's and the magazine is a perfect fit.

The pic must be playing tricks on the eyes. I'll have to dig one out of the stash and compare.

Not a very good picture of the holster. I'll do a better one in the AM.

As promised, but a little late.

The new pics better define the dimensions of the holster/mag pouch. I have one in about new condition that a relative picked up at Collectors Firearms years ago. I'll have to find it and take some pics. The HP fits these very well, keeps them clean and dry. Is this one maker marked? Some were marked GECO or AKAH.

Is that finish, rust blue? That is righteous!

It is more like the post war S&W finish. Unsure of the actual process. The picture in post #1 shows some reflective light.

The holster is definitely a 1950s German police holster from the state of Nordrhein-Westfalen (NRW), specifically for the FN High Power, which was standard issue from 1952 to 1966. Many nice HPs on the US market from that period are ex-NRW pistols, which were not otherwise marked, unlike the Austrian-issued ones from the same period.

The NRW holsters were made by at least three different manufacturers and are not to particularly tight specs. Geco and AKAH are only the best-known.

The holster in use. There were standard black as well as white versions for the traffic police:
