Default I said I'd never have one.

I have always just ignored Smith and Wesson's with longer than a 6" barrel. Not just Smith and Wesson's either. Any revolver. I don't care much for 6" either.

But I gave in for this one, mostly because it was releatively inexpensive, and it didn't seem they were going to bring out anything shorter anytime soon.

Umarex "Model 29" (made under license from Smith and Wesson) with an 8 3/8" barrel in CO2 BB. The C02 cartridge fits under the plastic grips. BB's are loaded into a brass cartridge that is loaded into the cylinder, just like the real thing. All controls work, just as with an original. DA/SA trigger are much better than I would have expected. The cylinder release works in the normal way to open the cylinder or can be pulled back to work as a safety locking the action. The barrel is pinned, the cylinder is not recessed. It is all metal except for the grips. Not steel, probably some sort of "aluminum alloy" but it's got some heft to it.

I haven't shot it yet but I'll probably get around to it one of these days. I buy these mostly as guns I want, but won't spend the money on to get a "real" one.

About $150.00 shipped to my door. Now that I've bought this one, I'm almost sure they'll bring out a 4" one.

It certainly captured the look of the Model 29.
