"off brand" grail guns
Talking handguns and not long guns, which firearm, not made by the big three of Colt, Ruger and our beloved S&W, is tops on your list to acquire, and why? You know, the one you'd drive another 50 miles to see? And it doesn't have to be expensive either. As long as it's something you really want. For me it's the Automag. Yes, the other Dirty Harry gun. But it wasn't Inspector Callahan who got me lusting after the big boomer. It was Mack Bolan, The Executioner. I know they are expensive. I know they're not particularly good guns. I don't care. I want one. Someday, I'll get the nerve to sell a kidney and buy one.I love the way they look. And I love the idea of them. Even if it isn't particularly well done. So what are your unicorns?

Walther WA-2000 rifle in .300 Win. Mag.
The 007 rifle in "The Living Daylights".
Very few imported. If I ever hit the Powerball, I'd get one.
Just because.

My grail gun was the Inglis Hi Power. I grew up not that far from the old Inglis plant in Toronto, and I always wanted one. Sure enough, one popped up at a gun show in Lafayette, Louisiana some years back, and I decided to indulge.
For a few years now I've had my ear to the ground for a Long Branch Enfield rifle. They're not super-expensive, but they do take some looking to find. Eventually, one will have a spot of honor in my safe next to the Inglis and my Ross Rifle.
Mike
(I guess to round things out, I'd also need an original Canadian made Para 1911. They were made about a mile from my childhood home.)

ANY shotgun made by Holland & Holland. If/when I hit the lottery, I am going to fly to England, and order one (or more) in person. I will probably wear it out, cleaning it two or three times a day!!
EDIT: Sorry, in the OP, I missed the first sentence that excluded long guns. My mind went right to my grail gun.

By the way, this kind of thread attracts scammers like flies to honey. If you get a PM offering up what you are looking for, look closely. Ask questions. If you get a hinky feeling pass and report using the symbol at the top right. Stay safe, my friends. And some of these guns are on my list too. High Power. Check. P7. Check. Holand and Holland. Check and check.

I’ve always had a weird fascination with pistols that had holsters that could be attached as stocks. The broom handle and hi power are two I share with you. I’d simply switch the 1903 with a 1908 in .380!

The .44 Automag was a notoriously poor feeding and cycling gun. I heard a story that Clint was so frustrated with it while trying to film Sudden Impact that he either threatened or actually did throw the gun in the ocean. Now, his 29? Awesome gun.

For me, it would probably be the Beretta 90-Two in .40 S&W. A now discontinued updated variant of the 92/96FS. Although I'd settle for a 96A1 as well, which is the successor to the 90-Two which is still in production.
What got me into it? Well, it was honestly the BioHazard/Resident Evil series of Video Games. A custom variant of the Beretta 92F known as the Samurai Edge was the standard issue sidearm of the Raccoon City Police Department's S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics And Rescue Service) Troopers, and was featured throughout the series. There are a couple of different manufacturers who produce reproductions of the S.T.A.R.S. grips, and even a few custom shops that will mill the slides of Beretta 92 Series Pistols to include the proper modifications/engravings of the Samurai Edge, but I'd be happy with the already unique-looking 90-Two with S.T.A.R.S. Grips.

Now I have one of the local judges looking at what I have as his grail gun. It's my Webley Mark VI .455 revolver. I remember how I was searching high and low for one that did not have its cylinder shaved for .45 ACP shells. But I got lucky and with perserverence I found a Webley in its original configuration. I don't why it called to me so hard, but I just figured it was so ugly it's cool. Now one of the local judges, who is a member of one of the clubs I belong to and who I've known for years, started asking me if I'm interested in selling it. I'll most likely end up leaving it to him.

Probably a SIG210 for me.
The first time I ever held one, I had the thought this is the finest, best made device I ever held in my hand.
And I had handled fine handguns, optical devices, navigational devices, and other things.
And I feel the same The Swiss Lugers.

A Walter Roper equipped Remington .22lr Rolling Block Pistol.
Someone on the forum found one years ago and posted about it, so I know they exist outside of his book. I've not seen one for sale. Hopefully he eventually remembers I want it and sells it to me.

A Jennings .25 auto. It’s a great grail gun because if I find one, it should cost me no more than $50. And if I don’t find one, I could care less.

I was going to say that I couldn't think of any non S&W or Colt handgun that I'd drive over 50 miles for, until this was posted.
While it's not really a grail gun for me, I'd go way out of my way and spend lots of money to obtain one.
Now, when it comes to rifles, I thought of about a half-dozen right off the bat.

I’d like to find a NIB or LNIB Star M series in Starvel finish. .40 or .45 would be OK but I might go for a 9.
They are not very expensive but it’s that old collectors curse. Find the gun but have no money, or, have the money but can’t find the gun.

A Thompson M1A1 Submachine gun. I do have a C02, BB version but that's probably about as close as I'll ever come to one. A range I used to belong to had one as a rental, but it was out of service every time I asked.
H&K PZ-7. Just because back when I was shooting with an IPSC club all the cool kids wanted one. I don't know if any of them actually had one or not.
H&R Model 999 with a 4" barrel. I used to drool over one of those in the Shooters Bible. I always imagined myself off in the Yukon somewhere, tending my trapline. I had a 6" one for a while, but it just wasn't what I really wanted so I let it go.

Always thought something like a Winchester 1885 clone in .223 (or .243) for walking around in Penns Woods.
I have a 1885 high wall, made in 1887, in .22 short hanging in my den.
For now it's a CZ 527 FS/mannlicher in .223/5.56

That was one of my first guns, although I don't know if 1975 qualifies as "older". Bought for me by my older brother from Western Auto. Still have it.
Controlled feed, blue steel and walnut Winchester Model 70 Featherweight in .308. Left-handed. As far as I know they were only available special order.
Llama Olympico .32 S&W Long target revolver. Only because I have the .22 and .38 versions and want to complete the trio. The only one I've ever seen was a few years ago on Gunbroker, NIB, starting bid of something like $1200. As the guy said, when have you ever seen one and when are you ever going to see another? But still, $1200 for a Llama?

I always wanted a Tokarev TT-33 Viet Nam bring back pistol. I did bring back a rough Russian SKS, but the pistol always held a shine for me.

In my quest a complete Artillery Luger rig would be at the top of my list.
To the original poster, a quick google search will show the NEW Auto Mag pistol is now available and shipping.Price is $3495.00 I believe.

I thought the Steyr GB was my ultimate grail handgun, but then they came out with the Laugo Alien. So much want.
I would take a H&K P7, too. I also have a hankering for a Grand Power X-Calibur, love me some rotating barrel goodness.

Sure glad I didn't know about that before you sold it.
