Right now, it would have to be my Walther PPQ classic in 9mm.
Soon, hopefully, my Springfield SA35 Hi-power. My order went in on the 25th of last month. Thought it would have been here by now.

It has to be the pistol that I carry 95% of the time. Springfield Armory Micro Compact 1911 in .45 ACP. With a Wilson's 7rd Officer Model magazine + 1 in the chamber, it is a formidable firearm for every day carry. I've owned and carried many firearms in the past 40 years but I've never found one that fit my hand, balanced and pointed as naturally as this pistol. The short slide clears a holster very quickly (making up for my slow reflexes) and that short slide also cycles very quickly and gets back on target very quickly. The Black T finish I had applied after SA's Custom Shop checkered the frontstrap is worn off completely in many spots but since it is a stainless slide and alloy frame, I'm not to worried about rust. It looks like what it is, a well worn tool.

Recent acquisition. Makes me uninterested in all other 9mm.
CZ Tactical Sport Orange. 20 rd capacity. Super light trigger. Very accurate. Heavy. Feels great in my hands.

I'm sure I have far too many "favorite" guns to list each one, but one that comes to mind is my Springfield Armory 1911 with 460 Rowland conversion - and a Wilson BT grip safety.
The 460 Rowland delivers an honest 1,000 fpe which puts it right up there and beyond any short-barrel .44 magnum. Recoil is surprisingly mild, and the gun can basically be fired just as fast - accurately, as any standard 1911. So the 460 conversion gives you 44 magnum power in a fast-to-reload automatic. We're talking 230 grain bullets at 1,408 fps / 1,013 fpe!
The Springfield Armory 1911 is a beautiful rendering of the design!

I would say non-S&W carry gun would be my 9mm Star BM, and 9mm shooter is my CZ75.

Bone stock 1911A1. This one is not mine. Clones are as close as I have come to date, but one day I will have authentic USGI 1911A1.

I’d say my favorite non S&W pistol in my collection is my 1980 Sig Sauer P6. The West German police history makes it interesting, and because it’s a fundamentally a Sig P225 I’ve been able to upgrade it with an SRT, night sights, and a nice set of wood grips. The only thing it doesn’t do is feed hollow points.

SIG P220R3. I did replace the E2 grips with standard SIG P220 grips.

This old warhorse. Mine since 1961. Now well over a century old, it is retired from every day carry, it served me well for a long time. A Combat Commander, about half it's age keeps me company now.

Colt 1911 GM Nickel, born 1976, NIB, given to me for my 65th birthday by my son, who was also born in 1976. It doesn't get much better than that.

I wouldn't claim these to be my favorite non-S&W's (I like all my firearms or I wouldn't keep them ) but they are the two that are carried and shot the most.
