Got this today, shown with my old Aimpoint Comp M attached. Couldn't swing a Colt 6920 since the price spike, but this is a mostly Colt gun with a CMMG lower. (Colt barrel, upper, bolt assembly, etc.)

Perm. attached flash suppressor on the 14.5" bbl to bring it up over 16". GG&B BUIS is located behing the Aimpoint. 1:7 twist barrel.

Eh, it's not quite a 6920, but it'll have to do.

Then here's that FAL carbine that I also got this weekend.

Those 30rd DSA mags stick out a bit, but look nice on it.

And finally the old Sears and Roebuck Model 20 J.C. Higgins shotgun that I picked up. Lots of "character" marks.

Nice one Gator.

You'll have to shoot heavy bullets though as the 1:7 twist barrels dont like bullets lighter than 69gr

Actually the 1/7 twist will handle 55 grain bullets quite well. The military uses 62 grain bullets in 1/7 twist in the M-4. This is fortunate for the above owner since heavy bullet 5.56/223 ammo is not readily available and is extremely expensive when found. I shoot 55 grain in both my Colt 6920's, both my Colt 6520's, and my Colt 6721 (1/9 twist).

Most of my ammo is 55gr FMJ, usually I was buying Prvi, but I also have a lot of Rem UMC. I have three other ARs - a 1:9 CMMG M4 clone, a 1:7 early SP2, and an SP1 (1:12) that is a year younger than I am. I also have a recent vintage Mini 14. Thus it has worked out better for me to stock something that all the rifles can use, though I do have some 62gr FMJ.

Wolf, Prvi, and everyone else makes heavier JHPs these days to run through shorter bbl guns. Prices vary greatly. I don't buy the steel cased stuff since it would void the warranty on my CMMG. (Not internet hearsay, they specifically say not to use steel cased ammo.)

I should probably get a case of the heavier JHP at some point just to have around, but it hasn't been a priority for me.

Eh, doesn't everyone have all the gear for a light infantry platoon pretty much laying around in the closet?

What price are you seeing for 6920s? I need to know what you can't "swing", I might be able to help you out if you're still wanting one for "some day".

Cheapest that I've seen lately was circa 1500, with some dealers asking - and getting - around 1800.

I should have bought in back when they were 1300ish.
