I picked these up. It looks to be about K frame size, stainless construction, 3" barrel, and in the case of the one I have, a bobbed hammer and DAO. These were imported by Interarms some time back, and were, for a while, somewhat popular among big bore revolver fans since they were out during one of the periods when Charter either had their doors shut or were turning out lemons. Seems heavier than the Charter .44 special that I have, but more solid. Anyone have any experience with these?

Hi GatorFarmer,
I have one, but unfortunately, I've been sick and haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. You did a good job of capturing the essential facts and features of this pistol. The grip size is very unusual and is between a J and K frame. Pachmayr makes a replacement set, but they can be hard to come by. I'm told that Rossi was bought out by Taurus, and all warranty work is done by Taurus now. I've been told that it is much more pleasant to shoot than the Charter Arms as it is all stainless steel, and not alloy framed like the Charter Arms equivalent. My 720 also has the bobbed hammer and a very smooth double action (only) trigger pull. Some versions will have an unfluted cylinder, some will have adjustable sights, and some will be SA/DA. I wasn't looking for the 720 at the time, but I had just read some posts on this forum about it the night before I visited the local gun show. I got a good deal on mine - $200.00 cash and a H&R 929
.22LR revolver and I got into the .44Special game. I have 100 rounds of 240gr. all lead "cowboy load" ammo to test fire this pistol with, and I can't wait to try it out.
How does yours shoot?
Best of luck,
Dave

I had a Rossi 5 shot stainless 44 special about 15 years ago that I *thought* was labeled as "720" although it was standard hammer and DA/SA capable. Sounds like the same thing, yes?
Wonderful econo big bore belly gun. Shot it a lot, got talked out of it in one of those "lookee what I've got to trade" deals..... Wish I still had it.

I have one and I really like it. Mine is surprisingly accurate for a little gun. I haven't had it out in awhile, but I used to shoot it at the 50 yard range just to show it off.
