Ruger reported last night that 1st Qtr sales increased +55% and earnings increased +328% ($.30/share versus $.07/share last year).
Backorders continues to grow from $47 million to current $136 million...+189%.
Looks like this retail surge is being partly driven by "first time" gun buyers...probably explains for ammo shortage.
Ruger (RGR) is up $1.85 (+17%) this morning in heavy trading.

Bad news. Wait till the current group of scoundrel in DC hear about it. They'll immediately make some announcements and policy changes to get the firearms makers back in line with the Dow and everyones 401k/403b accounts! Can't have a non-PC business booming in the midst of their downturn.

Have a daughter in college. In their economics class, they had to pick some stocks to "buy" and follow during the semester. I think she picked some tech stocks, I would have done the same, but some kid who picked Ruger and S&W did real well.

It's the Mexican drug Cartel buying up LCP .380's to arm their troops! With every rocket launcer you get a LCP .380 and a swine flu shot.

The college student will probably ace the class!
Based on today's share prices:
Ruger is +116% since Jan 2, 2009
+196% since November, 2008
S&W is +226% since January 2, 2009
+374% since October, 2008
Thank you Mr. Obama!

S&W's at $7.25 at this time. Since I bought at $2.30 I'm getting tempted to sell.
