Default Sig P210 Legend Classic Target

Shot a non Swiss P210 for the first time ever. A buddy showed up at the range with it and let me have a go. In fact I am not even sure that this is its correct model designation

Anyway, I was favourably impressed, seems like a quality built pistol

Built 2014 in Germany

I like the traditional looking safety and slide release levers

It shot a bit low for my liking and I had to holdover higher

Once I got the hang of it, it shot as a 210 should, 25 m offhand

I had shot my 210-6 7.65 mm just before

I’d probably get one if they weren’t so damn expensive, they cost more than a pristine 210-6 with original adjustable sights

I have a Sig Sauer P210 and am very happy with the pistol and its performance. If I were younger, I would try it as a center fire pistol in a 2700.

Shot my friends brand nwe production at the Range about a year ago - seemed like a very competent target pistol with a very good trigger. I was impressed.

Thumbs up

I bought one several years ago. It has become my favorite 210.

Over there they might cost something like an original, in the US the new target guns are 2/3-1/2 the cost of a mediocre specimen of Swiss-made P210.
I found the new gun was fine at 25 yards, but fell apart badly at 50 compared to the Swiss gun.

I have a German mfg P210, it is the only 9mm that I can shoot well.

This P210 was made in Eckernförde and its official designation is "P210 Target". It is a sport version of the "P210 Legend". The differences are: extended dust cover, slide serrations of the Supertarget, adjustable sights of the Supertarget, checkered trigger guard with finger stop of the Supertarget, Nill compact walnut target grips. It was discontinued (to my knowledge) when SIG introduced the 5" version of the Supertarget in 2017. The "P210 Target" is quite rare around here.

About the 50 yard performance: there's a YT video on the P210 American Target (one of a a series I believe), where Ransom Rest tests 147-grain loads at 50 yards and they did quite well.

I suppose the one I tried could have just been defective then, because it was very poor compared to the older gun.
Still no excuse for the badly machined front sight, but I suppose that can be replaced.
That said, the original guns were test fired and certified for an accuracy standard to avoid such things. I don't know what testing the new guns get, if any.

I have never seen one with target sights if I recall correctly. The P210 is on my list of "when one turns up locally, buy it". I would prefer an older model for various reasons. NIB or new in box from a distributor, here in the United States, they are going for around $1,900.00 USD in my locality.

Addendum: Sorry that I am typing some things out fully. I have friends around the world and slang or acronyms sometimes can get lost in translation, it is not meant or intended as disrespect. Thank you for sharing.
