CZ 75D Compact
In November of 2020, I posted a thread looking for options an all metal single stack 9MM pistols. Ladder13 posted his CZ 75D Compact. I was rereading the thread a couple of days ago and was intrigued by his 75D Compact.
Today, I stopped at a couple of gun stores and they happen to have one in stock. It came home with me!
Edit: Just added VZ Tactical Diamond grips in black cherry. They greatly improved the trigger reach for me over the stock grips. Will probably add grip tape over the front and rear serrations.

Great pistol. Enjoy.
Been EDCing the PCR version for several years. It makes me a much better shooter than the other choices I've tried.
Edit: Hubby and I both carry the PCR and have put thousands of flawless rounds through each one. Only one minor glitch so far, the Loaded Chamber Indicator Nut worked it's threads loose and got lost during a long range session. CZ sent free replacement. Reinstalled using thread locker.

Yep, my PCR has been my most frequent carried pistol since I got it in 2019. CZ makes some excellent handguns … it inspired me to add a full size 75B Omega to the pile as well.

Is the 75D Compact the same as the PCR? Mine came with two 10 round mags. It is not marked PCR; just 75D Compact.

No, I believe the PCR is an alloy frame and the compact is steel.
Correct me if I'm wrong, I have a CZC custom Shadowline compact and love it, great pistolas!
I also believe they make a 10 rounder and a 14 or 15 rounder as well.

The PCR is not marked PCR, it's marked the same as yours. The main difference from a regular compact is the frame is aluminum instead of steel and thus about 4 ounces lighter.
The aluminum frame is visibly thicker where it meets the slide, while the steel frame is flush to the slide sides.
The 10 round mag is for restricted states. It's designed for a 14 round mag.
Edit: just checked, and it seems the steel compact didn't come with the decocker option, only with a safety, so yours is likely the PCR version. The other PCR differences are it comes with the Loaded Chamber Indicator, and anti-snag rear sight.
The P-01 is the compact with a light rail .

I have both the Compact and the PCR, I like the balance of the Compact slightly better, but I prefer the de-cocker on the PCR, and it's lighter.

I carry the PCR daily. Very reliable and accurate. I would like to do a trigger job, but will probably leave it as is.

The CZ 75 Series are great pistols... one thing that I always recommend is doing the hardened steel firing pin retaining pin upgrade that Cajun Gun Works sells:
61100 Firing Pin Retaining Pin - Cajun Gun Works
Not complicated to do, this video on Youtube shows how to do it and explains why it should be upgraded.
I did the swap on both, my 75BD and PCR, in about 20 minutes.

I also own both the 75 Compact and the full-size 75, whatever their precise nomenclature. I've found the full size magazine fits and works in the compact, altho it protrudes.

Overall I like this pistol unbelievably well! It’s DA/SA. The trigger reach is a little long. But after the first shot, reach is perfect in single action. Width and weight are greater than with my Kahr K9. I ordered VZ Tactical Diamond grips in black Cherry. They were out of olive drab. I will eventually order a blackened stainless steel guide rod from ssguiderods. Will also consider doing the hardened firing pin retaining pin. Now to find a holster.

I have had a CZ-75 PCR for several years and am quite pleased with it. It is very easy to shoot and makes night tight clusters right at the point of aim at 15 yards. Regarding replacing the firing pin retaining roll pin with a solid pin, that is really only necessary if you dry fire the gun a lot. It certainly can't hurt to replace it regardless of if you dry fire it a lot anyway but it's not a necessity.
Here's a pic of mine with some aftermarket English walnut stocks and slotted screws. Why CZ uses Philips head screws is beyond me, they look totally out of place on a gun. I'm not a fan of the VZ grips, they make me dizzy just looking at them.
Like many guns, CZ's need some breaking in in order to smooth the trigger action and also the decocker lever was stiff until it had been worked a few hundred times.

Don't forget the standard 14 round magazines, if your not restricted.
A half-inch O-ring from a faucet rebuild kit, placed over the firing pin, is good for dry-fire practice.

Swap the baseplates on the full size mags with the baseplates from the SP-01 magazines. They will fit flush on all the compact models, except the Rami.

Otis24,
I am willing to bet, this will not be your only CZ, they must get lonely and will somehow let you know they need a sibling.
Have fun with your 75D

I found a nice compact CZ SP01 at my nearby Cabela's a year ago, several mags, for $500, and enjoyed shooting it. It is a bit heavy for summer carry here in the heat of UpState SC, and I did get a Kydex OWB holster for it for fun shooting. But I found that the curve of the trigger was really painful to want to shoot it very much. A shooting buddy bought the 75 compact, which is very similar in size, and also found it to cause his index finger to hurt. He promptly sold his for the same reason.
Read about a replacement trigger that Cajun has, something about it being from a different pistol or earlier variation, so sent my SP01 to them for the trigger and stronger pin upgrade, whatever that is. I think it was about $150 total.
Much more comfortable to shoot now, just a slightly different curve to the trigger. I find it very accurate to my point of aim, and have about 5 mags for it. Like all CZ's, never a malfunction. Mine is my travel pistol; when we are heading out far from home, I take it with me, or put it in a lock box with a cable in the trunk.
But it is heavy, and tends to pull my shorts down a bit, so it is not in my personal carry rotation. I bought an aluminum extended base plate for a mag, supposed to fit, but I just couldn't get it to lock to a mag, so the next time I shoot with a friend who shoots CZ's I will give it to him.
I have big hands and long fingers, and find the bigger grips on the CZ pistols really fit my grip well. But the trigger swap was essential.
Diverging a bit, the decision about which pistol to carry in the Sumer heat and humidity here really does make it necessary for me, at least, to carry a Sig 365, since my summer garb is shorts and a thin T shirt. I gave my 75B to my son.
All the best... SF VET

I have had a CZ, Omega Compact for several years. I sent if off to Cajun Gun works for their full package, grips, sights, action job etc. It is a great little gun. I had to get the Omega because of the ambi controls.

My son, almost 19, and his classmate took the CZ and my Kahr K9 out to teach a female classmate how to shoot. They all loved the CZ. His classmate brought his Glock along. He is apparently a Glock fanboy. He was very impressed with the CZ. Waiting for my son to get home so he can check out the CZ with the new grips.

I did get the hardened firing pin retaining pin from CGWs.
Went out to shoot it for the first time yesterday. Absolutely hated the stick “fishhook “ trigger. Very irritating to my trigger finger. I ordered the “old style” trigger and floating trigger pin from CGW as well. The new trigger allows you to limit the forward travel on reset, which helps to reduce trigger reach.

Thank you for the “heads up “ regarding Cajun Gun Works. I ordered the “Old Style “ trigger, the floating trigger pin and the firing pin retaining pin. Called customer service/technical support prior to ordering. Excellent customer service! Friendly folks! They answered my questions and thanked me for doing business with them.

Others have mentioned you can’t just have one CZ. I found that to be the case. Both of mine are full sized and have been to CZ Custom for the full action package which includes upgraded hammer and trigger. Cajun Gun Works offers similar packages. They are nice shooting guns.
I recommend LOK grips. These are the palm swell bogie grips. Grenade pattern. However, the factory rubber grips are hard to beat. I’ve tried other options and always went back to factory rubber until I tried the LOK. That includes CZ aluminum, VZ thin panels, Hogue rubber finger grove and Uncle Mikes Spegel from eBay. They now reside in the grip box.

I may put the factory grips back on mine once I see how well the trigger replacement improves trigger reach.
Thinking I would like to have a CZ 83 at some point

Installed the CZ 85 trigger and floating trigger pin on my CZ 75 D compact. Feels fabulous! The only criticism I have of this pistol is that the narrow slide leaves little to grasp to rack the slide.

Another CZ 75 fan here. Solid steel. Double action. More than enough capacity. Can be carried cocked and locked. Reasonable price. Made by a well know manufacturer who has been turning out very rugged guns for a long, long time. What is not to like?
