This morning I got lucky and found a NIB Marlin 1894c .357 / .38 at the Charlotte, NC gun show. This particular model has been very difficult to find. I put 100 rounds through it this afternoon...good fun. Here are some pictures:
Here it is with some Hornady LEVERevolution .357 ammo. The pointed rubber tip improves ballistic performance and is safe for use in a tubular magazine.
Here is the beagle saying "please pay attention to me."

Now that one is beautiful! Not a bad rifle either.

Now you gotta get a 39A. Great rifle, cheap ammo.

I always thought I should get one of those. It looks like a BLAST. Someday maybe in 44. Have fun.
P.S. Can I borrow the book?

Careful of the slipper slope.
I bought a 1948 model 336RC last December.
Then in January I bought a 1894C.
Then in February I bought a 1894SS.
Now, someone just had to go and mention the 39A. LOL
I love em

I got one just like it a couple of years ago. I think it's my favorite rifle. I put a Williams peep sight on it and a red front bead. You will now probably buy more Marlin levers.

Congratulations, NCBeagle. There's one of those in my future. Frankly, I'd rather have bought that little carbine than any EBR.

I've had a Marlin 1894 for about 25 years. It sure is a fun little carbine. It was sent back to marlin because it wouldn't feed well and they replaced the bolt and lifter. Later I had a smith smooth up the trigger. Enjoy that gun as you will surely have loads of fun shooting. Bruce

I have it's twin and it's my favorite centerfire rifle. More fun that a barrel of beagles.

Old Fella has got it right. You got a great little gun there, they're a lot of fun to shoot.
Enjoy it.

Nice score.
I’ve got one, a pre cross bolt safety, It’s on my keeper list.
Now I’m usually a pistol cartridge out of a rifle is still is pistol cartridge, but some 357’s out of a rifle have some impressive numbers and are still soft shooting. They make nice plinkers, would take lots of game, and would make zombies duck for cover too.

The wife has one with the longer octagon barrel. I have one of each, round and octagon barrels only in 44mag.
All are scoped and shoot like a house a-fire.
Happy for you!

Marlins are nice in that by removing one screw you can take out the lever, bolt and ejector spring and clean it from the breech. Can't do that with Winchester
|
Very true,nor with winchester replicas.
However the .357 magnum in a rifle or carbine is FUN! as is a .38 special if so inclined and your rifle will feed!
And the 39A,
Something about cranking that lever, takes you back to simpler times

Nice rifle. Hope you stayed dry shooting it this afternoon.
By the way, since you're in Charlotte. I can drop by and sign my book for you.

Excellent find. I was lucky enough to find a
pre hammer block safety one. I am a devotee of long arms in pistol calibers, I think they give you the Best of Both Worlds.
