Dan Wesson Classic .45 ACP
Picked up this like new Dan Wesson Classic CBOB .45 off a local board. Came with the box and docs and two magazines.
I really like the Bob Tail Frame on a commander size pistol.

Iggy, here on the forum, has been showing his in 10mm for some time. I have serious envy over those early CBOB guns. I couldn't find anything locally, so I built my own version out of some Colts
Neat gun!

Beautiful gun. They are still making them from what I see, hopefully the quality is the same.

Great looking pistol. Dan Wesson (or CZ) makes some wonderful guns. Never read or heard a negative comment about them. Thanks for showing. Makes me want one.

Mike,
I think that Dan Wesson/CZ has transitioned to the VBob series.
Bob Serva, who made the Dan Wesson 1911's are what they are today, left and started his own company down in Florida. Fusion Firearms is plugging along, and Bob will make just about anything you like

Congrats on that nice DW! I had one lust like it back before I retired. I qualified with it for a couple years, but mostly carried it off duty. DW makes some very high quality 1911s. Hope you get many years of enjoyment from it.

That's a nice find. It should be a great shooter.
I never liked the "bobbed" butts and thought they were somewhat ugly.
Then I handled a Dan Wesson 9mm ECP in the LGS and it went home with me. I liked it so well that I later went back and ordered another in .45 ACP. Never too old to learn something new!

Great gun- One of the transition builds of the Classic here
Bought this one a few years ago. Checked with CZ and it matches the current Classic, except it is called a Patriot. CZ said it has all Classic attributes except the name on the side. A great shooting gun, either name you call it. Sent it to Trijicon and got new lamps put in. The originals were 15 years old.

Fantastic 1911. The only thing about it that I don't like is that grip angle, which is just aesthetically displeasing to me. If only they'd round it off a bit then it would be better, but as is it just looks like someone literally took off the corner with a hard diagonal cut to the grip.
However, that's just my opinion, my personal taste, and the pistol looks fantastic regardless. I would be thrilled to own one just like it.

I picked one up a few years ago. I believe CZ/Dan Wesson made the CBOB concurrently with the VBOB as the CBOB was recognized by the Ca. roster. I agree that the bobbed grip is not as appealing looks wise as a standard frame, but I think that is due to it being "non traditional" more than anything else. It feels great in the hand and is much easier in avoiding printing. Hard to believe that small change makes such a difference.
Solid, reliable and accurate. I especially like the clean slide. You will enjoy it!

A decade ago, bought the same Classic, and carry it from time to time, a bit heavy for me now. Shot it in IDPA too. For me, the "bob" of the butt really made the butt of the pistol fit my hand perfectly, reducing the "push" of the butt on the lower part of my hand, below my thumb. Never a malfunction with any of my reloads. Nice pistol, enjoy it. SF VET
