Thumbs up The Glamorous Guns Thread.

I see a lot of folks posting threads about various fabulous firearms on the forums, so it seems like we need a unified thread to share and discuss these posh pistols, refined revolvers, and luxurious long guns.

Alas, I don't have anything new to show off here, so I'll just have to post something you've most likely seen before, but still looks gorgeous...

The Heckler & Koch USP45 Elite

I've already featured this fine firearm for show and tell before, so I won't go into detail about it yet again here, I'm more interested in seeing and hearing about what others have to share.

Photos aren't required, but are obviously appreciated.

I’ve always like the Model 52 Sporters, including the Re-issue Model 52 Sporters from the late 1980’s and early 1990s.

Here are two of the three I own:

The one with the nicer wood is the Winchester “B” example and the other is the Browning marked “C” example. They have some notable differences:

Different combs on the stock.

No barrel pressure screw on the Browning.

Steel Neidner style butt plate on the Winchester.

The barrels and actions are however identical and don’t reflect the action changes between the B and the C.

Edit:

Here’s all three together. The bottom one is also a Winchester marked “B” but with more typical plain wood.

Glamour gun means one thing to me: The incomparable Colt Pocket Hammerless.

Default The Glamorous Guns Thread.

I may have answered differently a few years ago but these days, my Winchester levers are the bomb for me.

The M9422 on the left is a first year (1972) model that was unfired when I bought it a couple years ago - hangtags still attached. The M94 from 1951 in 30-30 is gorgeous …..

Is that picture of Bogie from Key Largo?

I think the M41 is the prettiest semiauto pistol that S&W makes:

Yep! It’s my favorite Bogie movie after The African Queen. He clears out a literal boatload of baddies with that little .32 ACP.

bc1023, after so many race guns, it reminds me of the sorority full of bikini clad, well-endowed, blonds: pretty soon they all look alike!

I don't have photo display capability, but a pair I'm very happy with are Uberti copies of S&W Number 3 Russians! They look strange compared to more modern revolvers! But to draw, aim and fire the stubby 44 Russian cartridges, is a form of elegance that eludes most modern designs.

Part of the reason why I like the USP Elite so much is because it sort of looks like an oversized modern Walther PP.

I have a pre war (1926) Winchester Model 94 rifle that has a certain amount of glamour as well as three pre-64 Model 94 carbines that probably qualify in an old west sense of the word.

It occurs to me that if you rotated all those beauties through the barbecue appearances they deserve, you'd have to get some new gun belts.

Like other members of this fine Forum, I have many firearms that can be called Glamorous, so I am going to leave this post as the few that make it to the top of that category

If we are talking handguns and since we are on the Smith & Wesson Forum, I would have to call the 3566 Limited the most Glamorous Smith & Wesson automatic.

As to the most Glamorous Smith & Wesson revolver, I am going to have to say the Deluxe Texas Sesquicentennial Model 544 commemorative.

Though it is hard not to give an Honorable Mention to the Color Case hardened Smith & Wesson McGivern Special revolver

On the non Smith & Wesson front, I have to score the Colt Python very high on the glamour scale. Here is my 6" with the Factory optional Elliason sights, Just below that is my 2 1/2" Ultimate Stainless Python

I have always found 1911s to be very Glamorous firearms especially when wearing Ivory grips. My Gold Cup Commander has been with me to many special events over the decades. The color case hardened Kimber celebrates the 100th anniversary of the 1911 and lastly my long slide chambered for the 10MM Auto cartridge "THOR" was just built because I could

I will leave the Glamorous Rifles, Shotguns and Machine Guns for another thread

This is probably my most Glamorous Gun, my Smith & Wesson Model 629 Punxsutawney Phil Commemmorative .44 Magnum that was issued through the Custom Shop. It was issued for Groundhog Day 1997. It has the high polish finish and "Punxsutawney Groundhog Club" written in script (cursive?) on the 8 3/8" barrel. One of my few safe kings.

That was definitely impressive bc1023. When you go to the range, how do you decide on what you are going to take?

Not sure if it's glamorous enough, but my modest expensive has been this Pre 27 with 3.5" barrel.

My favorites of his films are the four he made with Lauren Bacall, especially To Have and Have Not. The beginnings of a love story that lasted the rest of his life.

Default Gettin near Veterans Day....so....

Probably not at all "glamorous" to most folks, but I'm sure they were glamorous to some GI grunt, swabbie, jarhead, flyboy somewhere in the world, at sometime in their issued duty cycle, whether Europe, Island hopping in the Pacific, Chosin Reservoir, Vietnam....

Always faithful, reliable and I know both glamorous and respected to me.

Ya gotta love some old time rock and roll! The Thompson submachinegun exudes a certain amount of glamour, like speakeasies, flappers and old Packards.

My "Glamorous" contribution here would be my 1946 Mexican Target

Seriously bc1023, at some point you'll have to start a handgun museum. You have so many treasures vintage and modern, imagine those displays. Wow.

My most stylish and well made long gun is this 1890 Winchester in ,22 Long Rifle. I spent a lot of years looking for this rifle. It's still like new and it's 103 years old.

My favorite and most glamorous revolver is this .45 cal. of 1950/pre 26.

Colt Police Positive 38.
A poor soul of a little Colt that needed some love and attention and a make over.
It sat in the bottom of a GunShop display case unwanted, worn finish and broken grips. A Security Guard gun maybe as it had a rack# crudely stamped on the bottom of the grip frame.

So it got a new face lift. Polish job. Engraving.
New shoes of English Walnut, I had a set of matching 'front facing Pony medallions and fitted and gold plated them (Too much??).
A few gold jewelry accents to the engraving to catch some attention to her.
A high polish rust blue completed the finish with the hammer and trigger polished bright and left in the white.

Ready for the night life scene.
Bogey might have liked it I think,,or maybe he'd have given it to one of his Dolls.

I bought one of these 2 years ago - its a Beretta 85FS Cheetah in nickel. They are pretty rare and quite pricey. Made in Italy.

I just bought one of these, waiting for my pistol permit to clear so I can go pick it up - which involves another background check....

Anshutz 1418 with Mannlicher stock. Got this one about 10 years ago from a retired cop who taught his son to shoot with it. They arent very common.

I found this 1890, also in the less common .22 LR, in a small gun shop in MN three or four years ago. Given its excellent mechanical condition, I doubt it ever spent time as a gallery gun.

I have a couple of Austrian police surplus Manurhin made Walther PP pistols, with a certain amount of 007’esque glamor.

Many fine guns so far, thank you for sharing. Personal favorite--current state--is the Thompson.

Alas, I don't have anything new to show off here, so I'll just have to post something you've most likely seen before, but still looks gorgeous...

I've already featured this fine firearm for show and tell before, so I won't go into detail about it yet again here, I'm more interested in seeing and hearing about what others have to share.

Photos aren't required, but are obviously appreciated.

I want one of those in 9mm very badly!
