Got my Remington 870 just the way I want it. I received it with a 20" smoothbore barrel and factory +3 extension. I put on a police forend and a laminated express buttstock. Added a pachmayr decelerator pad and had the whole thing refinished in Mil-Park Green Gunkote over parkerize with some black accents here and there. It's just a regular old 2 3/4 inch Wingmaster from 1969. Now I just need some zombies to test it out on.

Nice JOB!
you need a flexi tab kit just in case you get a dbl feed and a zombie is sneaking up on you.
+3 extension, never heard of it. do you have plenty of magazine spring power?
I am looking for a beater 870 for this type of project. just simple police or wingmaster thats rough but operable.

That is a sweet looking 870 Onegunshort. Nice choice of buttstock and handguard as well as the finish.

I own a 870 that has some blood pitting on the rear sight and I was wondering is it silver soldered on? and what is this flex tab that you speak of?

It's a flexible shell lifter.
Mini hijack.
Anyone have an idea where I could
A. Get a set of Remington rifle sights
and
B. send the barrel into, to have them silver soldered on?
For my 870 Express?
Thanks, back to Lee's regularly scheduled bandwidth.

It is a Remington LE factory part, product number 19422. It feeds just fine.

the flexi tab kit is a bolt, slide and carrier that has a series of cuts or clearances so if a dbl feed were to occur, it can be over ridden with a sharp stroke of the foregrip.
otherwise, you have a club after the one shot.
Remington Armorers recommends all 870s with the flexi tab kit.
I used to make my Field Training Instructor mad as an early LEO because he would make me unload using only the shell latches and somehow I always got a shell to get under the bolt and past the shell latch. He was pissed at me for a while until I got the hang of it.

Tough to beat an 870 for a good utility shotgun.

I don't know what all that would cost, but you can buy a 20" slug barrel with sights for ~$150. That's what I did.

Very nice looking shotgun you've got there. I like the combination of the green and black finish.
Looks better than all tacti-cool black.

I didn't want to do black, and I don't really care for OD green. When I was over at Mac's shootin' Irons in Tucson to pick up my FAL he showed me a mossberg shotgun he was doing in the new Mil-Park green color. As soon as I bought this 870 I knew it was going to Mac for the same treatment.
