Well, I went to a good gun show and bought a knife
This is the very first knife purchase at a gun show for me. When I got married in 1992 all my groomsmen received a Gerber Guardian boot dagger from me as a token of appreciation. I always wanted a Mk I, but they were too expensive for me at the time. The Mac Tools logo on this one had it priced too good to pass up.
I'm happy!

If you're collecting I wonder if that logo might actually increase value.
I just checked. Some of those Guardian boot knives have appreciated in value a lot. I have the small one with stainless blade somewhere.

I got a few of those when a sporting goods store (Herman's) wet from a Type II to a Type III store. The entire knife section was on close-out. They started at 10% off. I think I bought every Gerber they had left at 75%off (in 1986 or 87) Most went on my gun show table! I think I paid $8 for those. (Philippine copies ram about $6 in that time frame.) So, I figured I did OK. Then I did my next show about 2 years later. The knives drew a stampede at the retail they had been marked!
