Every gun show I have attended in the past year has been with the intention of finding one S&W or another. Sometimes I had success, sometimes not.

This weekend I am breaking that trend and will try to specifically find a Sig P6 before the prices go up any more. Last show had some at $300 but, I see that they are going up all the time.

Anybody else here like these?

I have fought the urge to buy one of these for 2yrs now. The P6 is the same gun as the P225.

The only thing I have against them is the caliber and capacity, but the gun is great for a shooter

I have a P6 and given the proficency of the newer 9mm ammo I have no second thought about the capacity especially if you carry two mags. and if you can't find one at a gun show try [url=http://www.peachstateguns.com[/url] he may have some but they are getting really hard to find. As far as a ccw weapon I carry it about as much as I do my P229R .40. Peach state is showing some under special tabs for $369.00.

Anyway good luck in your hunt. For the price you won't find anything much better. Most of the ones I have seen are in really good shape. Again good luck.

Bought one when the German police guns flooded the market at less than $300.00. Shot it that weekend, liked it so much I immediately went back to the store and bought another one!

I had always resisted SIG's because I wasn't willing to pay what they were asking for the commercial ones. I'm not saying they weren't worth it, just that I'd rather buy a nice S&W revolver for that kind of money.

Both of mine were made in the 1990's, and handle hollowpoints with aplomb.

Commercial Sigs have better triggers and don't have a set of 20 odd year old springs that ought be replaced. Shrug.

Check out the Sig Forum and learn about "old" P6 bbls vs. "new" ones. Many of the older guns have trouble with JHPs, particularly 147gr.

I traded my P6 for a flat latch 36 and didn't look back.

As has been stated in every P6 thread, 115gr ammo will function in a P225. If you stay with that ammo your gun will be as reliable as any Sig pistol, old or new.

I picked up one last year at a local gun show in very good condition. They have since dried up, and spare Sig mags are hard to find and pricey. That being said, I love mine. The only complaint about the gun itself is that the finish is poor. It will rub off with normal holster wear in a hurry. Even bluing is more durable! I heard a rumour that not all German police departments have switched to something else yet, so we see more of them imported in the future.

I have 3 P6's that I paid $375 each
out the door last year from my local
dealer. (Purchased one every 30days).

I had no problem with 115gr & 124gr
JHP's. I heard some folks had problems with
147gr JHP's. It's no issue for me since I
don't load 147gr JHP's.

Magazines are readily available from various
dealers on the Sig Forum if your willing to pay
in the $30 to $40 range.
Topgun Supply, Clubster, USAOZ and from private
parties on the Sig forum.

I bought 5 of them a couple of years ago for $200 each. I bought them all at once. I have two left and I think I might be getting one of the others back as I sold it to my sister who has since replaced it as her carry gun. I haven't had any problems with mine with any ammo yet.

Ok, Picked one up today for $299 + tax, at a local gun show.

Couldn't be happier and will be cleaning her up later this evening and taking her out tomorrow (hopefully).

There were at least three dealers with P6's ranging in price from $299 to $375. This was the one with the latest date (1980) and happened to be the best looking one. Finish is probably in the 98% or 99% range. The most wear on this one is on the grips.

Thanks for the heads up. Just placed an order for the grips and for an extra mag.

I bought one last year from AIM surplus. Ordered @ $259 and when they came in, ended up paying $279 for a hand picked one. Really a fine pistol. Shoots well and wish I had bought another.

Recently replaced the factory grips with Pachmayr rubber replacements. Feels totally different! Sweet! Eats anything you want to feed it!!

Saw some p-6's at the Roanoke Gun Show yesterday for $349.00. They had more finish wear than mine, and cost more. Apparently Century Arms is getting some more imported.
