I had a 66B4 .357, I liked it,very good shooter,I paid $345 for it new.Didnt like the lock in the hammer, sold it to buy my S&W 66-1.Looking back I think I could of had the hammer changed.Oh well,I think if you dont mind the locks they are good guns.
Don't have that particular one but I do have a 4-inch Tracker in 45 ACP. As well built as any S&W I have. I've put over a 1000 rounds through it and love it. This is one non-S&W in my collection that I will not sell.
It was uncomfortable to shoot till I changed the grips, but now I love it. I would like to warn you that a lot of people that bought them could not handle the recoil and sold them. A few weeks a go I was shooting it at the range and two guys wanted to try it out, neither one had a problem with the recoil, so it just depends on how recoil sensitive you are. If it turns out the recoil bothers you you can always load it with .38s but why buy a .357 if you are going to carry .38s in it
Whoops I just realized you are talking about an 8 3/8 revolver, a larger gun should not kick too bad. But now I have a question, is it going to be a carry gun? If it is concealed carry it will be a bit hard to hide
