Greetings Everyone...
I bought a Ruger Single Six .22 last Sept, a used one "ANIB". Made in 1975.
Funny thing is I bought my 1st hangun in 1975 at the age of 17 ( Dad signed for it ). I sold that gun about 15 years ago, ( should not have done it! ).
Shoots great, brings back a lot of memories from my youth. Bagged a number of rabbits & squirrels with my 1st one, plan to do the same with this one too!
Lot of fun shooting it today!
Sell it? Not a chance!

That's great. The first gun of any kind I ever bought was a Ruger Single Six in about 1969. Like you, my dad had to sign for it. I still have it and it's still as tight as new after many, many rounds.

I purchased a Ruger "Standard" 4" fixed sight auto in 1961. Paid the original price of $37.50. Kept it until about 1975 and like an idiot sold it. I learned something. Don't sell your guns unless it is a ***!
Well, about ten years ago my son rectified that problem for me. He bought a like new MKII from one of his friends that is "financially distressed". Got it for $100.00 and gave it to me! 
Take it from an old timer, guns are for buying, not selling. Just make sure you buy the good ones!

Single-Sixes are great revolvers! The first handgun I bought was a bicentennial Single-Six the day I turned 21. That gun has been a field companion for 10s of thousand of rounds. Oddly enough, I just bought another new one last week when I turned 55. Sort of a symmetry there. Quite a difference in price over the years, but not so much either in a comparative sense. I now have a pair of 5.5" stainless ones to use for practicing CAS Gunfighter a little cheaper! Good thing .22s are still cheap (and available!). Too much fun...

I bought a new model single six in 77 or 78, and I still have it. It has never been for sale.

Yes, the Single Six is a great field gun, not only for hunting, but shooting cans full of holes!
Your right Charlie..every gun I sold, I wish I could have back! LoL..! BTW..A friend of mine has a Ruger Standard, very accurate, great gun.
I guess the older I get, I get rather sentimental.
My Dad always had a Single Six and would, under his supervision he would sometime let me fire it starting at the age of 7.
Papaw, don't ever think of selling it! First guns of any kind are kinda special!

The Ruger Single Six is a classic .22 revolver. It is one of my favorite .22s for field carry.

I've got a Ruger Single Six convertible in 5 1/2" blue. I wouldn't trade it for anything. It too is a truly classic handgun.

My first handgun that I bought while I was in the Air Force was a Ruger Single-Six while stationed in Hawaii. Two cylinders and had a micro adjustable sight install on it. Still have it but lost the magnum cylinder some place some how.

So glad you started this thread. A buddy of mine had one when we were kids and I always liked it, been thinking of getting another one. This thread just pushed me over the fence, I'm going to get one. Only prob is here in Houston most of the dealers have stainless ones, I always kind of liked the blued. Any thoughts? I guess either way they are cool..gotta love the 2 cylinders LR/Magnum. And with this ridiculous ammo panic .22 is sounding pretty good!
