A friend of mine has one of these in the presentation case. There are 3 barrel weights and an empty slot. He thinks it is for a screwdriver.
In my Standard Catalog they mention a dry-firing mechanism. What is missing?
I know that someone here is going to have the answer. Thanks for your help!

The slot is indeed for the screwdriver accessory. Have your friend contact Nicholas J. Riggio at Commemorative Arms, (314) 771-5700 and ask if he has a replacement for sale.
The dry-fire mechanism is inherent in the design of the safety--the owner's manual describes its function and use. I copied this photo from an ad on an auction site--not my gun!

Thank you. I didn't even think to surf the auction sites and see what they had (duh!). I appreciate the contact info and will see what I can find out. This guy has done a lot of favors for me and I would like to surprise him with the missing item.

Broker 57 If your friend does not have an owners manual I have scanned mine and can send it in jpeg format if you would like. Also on the missing takedown tool/screwdriver somewhere around here I have the name of a Browning collector who used to have some for sale (not cheap) But when you get a fine Medalist what's another few $$.. Fine pistol and the dry firing is great and easy to use. Let me if you need the manual and I will send it your way.. John D.

I don't believe that the cleaning rod show in the picture came with the Medalist.

I ordered a 6" barrel, and a set of grips from Comm. Arms for my original Browning Challenger several years ago. Nice people to deal with. He sent me an inventory of all the Browning parts that he had at the time.

Dave I will get it to you tomorrow as I forgot I have never exported the scans and turned them into jpegs. I think it is about 8 scans/jpegs do you want me to just send them in the blind to the email address in your profile? If so I will get it done sometime during the day.. JohnD.

I'll send them in jpeg format tomorrow. I just now got them off the scanner and cropped and compressed them some but if I go any lower they will look lousy so inbox will be full. Will send to email in your profile unless you have an alternate address you prefer? JohnD..

Broker57 and ABBYNORMAL emails with the Medalist manual in jpeg format went out this morning from my main email address so you might check your spam folder if they are not showing in your inboxes.. Hope they are worth a flip as I had to compress them quite a bit.. JD
