Default My "New" .357 From That Other Gun Company

I made a pilgrimage to a little gunshop out in the farm lands and came across six 2nd generation rebarreled Colt SAA's in 357 with tuned actions and lots of wear, finishwise.
I chose the earliest one (1958) even though the frame is now silver. These were used by a cowboy shooter who died at the young age of 45. This one was $900 but I gave them $850 for it. That's tops I would go on this gun. 1958 is the first year of the post war Colt SAA's in .44 Special so I lined up a gunsmith semi-locally who can rebore the cylinder and put my spare .44 Special barrel on it for $245. I'll do that when I scrounge up the money.

I like it. I need to get me one of those some day and wrap some leather around it.

Are you going to have it refinished, or leave it distinguished looking?

I love the way it looks right now and will leave the finish, or what's left of it, alone. It looks like a gun from 1900. I think it's gorgous as is.

It does have an appealing appearance about it just as it is.
