Default Savage Model 29 .22 pump rifle

Saw a Savage Model 29 .22 pump rifle today. It looked pretty good. Has anybody here had any experience with them? I don't have any .22 pumps and this one looked nice. Any idea what they are worth? Thanks

My first .22 was a Savage 29. It was a decent rifle, but not near as smooth an action as my friends Winchester 61. They do have some interest for collectors, but they have to be in very nice condition.

I have one, that was a gift from the widow of a former co-worker. Mine is early, has the octagon barrel. I don't shoot it much, but the action quit working, and a gunsmith fixed it pretty easily. Had something to do with a tab jumping a slot in the receiver that it is supposed to run in. They are classic American made rifles from an interesting period in history.

Have that same model gun that is marked with a hardware or department brand name "Premier Trailblazer".
Mine was a hand-me-down from my father, has an octagon barrel, the finish has been neglected, but shoots shorts, longs, or long rifles interchangeably.
Not a bad little plinker or squirrel gun if you can shoot with open sights. It isn't grooved or drilled for a scope, and I'm not going to alter a vintage gun, even though it isn't in great shape.
It will be handed down to the kids when I am done with it.
