Ruger Single Six vs Vaquero
Maybe you guys could help. I want to buy a holster for my Single Six and the question is, are they the same size? Will either one fit the same holster?

Unfortunately, no, the Single-six is considerably smaller than the Vaquero, which is the same frame size as the Blackhawk.
Even the New Vaquero will still fit the same size holster as the old one, but is still vastly larger than the Single-six.
Do you want a leather or a nylon holster?
There aren't as many choices for the Single-six as there are for the Vaquero/Blackhawk, but there are a good many from various manufactures such as Old El Paso, Galco, Hunter, Mitch Rosen, and many others.

You'll need to look for ones marked Colt SAA. Sometimes Vaquero.

I have a Single Six and my brother has an "old" model Vaquero. His Vaquero has a cylinder the about the diameter of a soda can (it seems that big). The "new" Vaquero has a smaller frame, but i think it's still a larger frame than the Single Six. If I remeber, the Single Six was about 7/8 the size of a Colt SAA. Good luck.

Galco makes the S.A.O for the Single-six.
Hunter makes several holsters to fit in a variety of styles, and these are the least expensive, but not lined.
Andrews Leather will make just about any of his leather to fit a Single-Six, but be prepared for a wait, but his quality is top-rate.
I will also recommend Bell Charter Oak, but I didn't see a Single-six in his fit list. Perhaps it just isn't listed, and his quality is also first-rate!
I take it back, Mitch doesn't list anything for a rimfire, but I could have sworn he did...
El Paso Saddlery makes some very good holsters, but also be prepared for a wait. They have the Tom Threeperson's holster, the Crossdraw, the Tanker and the Full Flap holster.

Unless you want a "cowboy" holster, I suggest a Bianchi #1.
1L Lawman™
They show up on ebay, used, all the time. They, apparently, only make the 1L, now. Lined with suede. But I've got a couple that are unlined, so they are out there. New they are probably 60, 80 dollars, or more. But I picked one up on ebay for less than 20.
