I'm also not a closet Ruger owner, by and large my Ruger's just plain work.
Here's my Ruger 10/22 'Possum Slayer.
Ruger MKII stainless with Tactical Solutions aluminum upper. This one is a tack driver.
Ruger M77 MKII all weather in .30-06.
Ruger PC4 (center) police carbine in .40 S&W.

Sold the only Ruger I ever owned, a 50th Ann SS. Might pick up a 3 inch GP 100 if I could find one.

I've still got a couple of Ruger Stainless Steel Vaquero's in .45 Colt. Sold my 2 Red Hawks sometime back. Nothing wrong with a Ruger. Built like a tank and twice as ugly!

Gee, how did I get this many?
Single six, Security-Six SS, 2 Mark-1 W/bulls, mini-14 SS, 3 10-22 (SS, hunter, long barrel SS), #1 .270, GP-100, and my latest an SP101 in .327. I like the stainless guns for carry in the tractors and pickups.

Yep, probably so.
Old Bill is gone now, and as usual, the younger generation forgets "the girl they came with to the dance." Instead of concentrating on a quality product at a reasonable profit, they start cutting corners to squeeze every penny out of the bottom line. Quality suffers, they lose market share, have a "eureka!" moment, start to fix the problems, and finally begin to rebound. And around and around we go.
Even then it never quite gets back to what it was.

Never been in that closet! I have a bunch of Ruger handguns and I love em. My latest, the Lipseys .44 special is a real winner, Ruger may have been strong armed into makeing them but they did thier homework and hit a home run with this one.

I've owned a few over the years, but never more than two at a time.
They aren't getting any more of my money until that infernal LOCK is gone!!!
Seriously, really more aggravated at the "Mickey Mouse" style worthless detent on the ratchet on the newest single actions.
The guy that came up with that should be slapped silly.
I do have a .380 Service Six though. (Yes, .380...not .38 Special.)

I've owned a lot of Rugers except for the shotguns and the Number 1 and 3 rifles.
Didn't care for the 77, 77-22, 10-22, Speed-Six, Super BearCat or Single-Six. None of them shot well except for the Speed-Six, but it was a mechanical lemon.
Love the MKII and Standard models and most of the centerfire single actions.
Right now I'd love to get a New Vaquero (blue) in .357, but the only blue model has that tacky looking phoney case hardening on the frame. Yuck! Bring out a plain blue model and I'll be first in line.

I have a few and like them a lot.
Old model Super Blackhawk
Stainless Old Army
Single Six SSM in .32 H&R
Mini-14
Mini-30
10/22 with Douglass fluted stainless barrel and McMillan silhouette stock
No.1 in .375 H&H
77 in 7X57 Mauser - shot my first mule deer ever with this rifle
With just a little prodding I could be interested in a Blackhawk in .41 mag or .45 Colt.

I only have one lonely ruger hanging out with my S&W's. With all due respect to S&W, I have always felt that if you want a 22 you have to own at least one Ruger, a company started by building a 22 cal pistol.

I just did a count - I currently have 29 of the critters. I especially favor the .22 pistols and the old model revolvers, although I have a few rifles as well. Here are some interesting ones from my group.
First, a Red Eagle standard 22, made in the first full year of production:
Next, one of the first 20 stainless Mark IIs:
I like classic Rugers ALMOST as much as I like classic S&Ws!
Next, an overrun of a Navy SEAL contract - stainless with a special blackened finish:
Not particularly rare, but interesting: an old Model Blackhawk in .30 carbine caliber:
An old model Super Blackhawk:
And an old model Blackhawk convertible .45 ACP/.45 Colt. One my favorites, it will shoot hell-for-leather loads in .45 Colt:

I've owned a Red Label and a Mod 77. Sold or traded them. All I have left now is a Mod 77 RSI .243 tack driver and a Super Single Six. I can see me owning a Bearcat and a New Model Vaquero in the not so distant future.

I've had several over the years, but never could really warm up to them. I do have a stainless 10/22 that works well, now that I've replaced almost every part in the trigger group. I also have an SP101 in .327 Federal that I bought to shoot .32 mags in. It's the first SP I've owned, and with Hogue grips, I actually like the feel of it. I had to do extensive trigger work on it, but it's fairly smooth now. I probably won't be buying any more.

No fancy Rugers here, just a basic 6" GP-100 and a Mini-14 with a composite stock and an Aimpoint. The GP-100 action isn't smooth like a Smith&Wesson but it's an outstanding shooter...

Is soon to be married to a completely beautiful and sweet woman who packs a Ruger SP101 .357...yes, I will behave! LOL. I have more sense than to get a passionate woman mad at me. Very nice revolver, Giz.

I wouldn't necessarily call myself a Ruger fan, but they do make several pieces I like, mainly their rimfires. The MK II is probably the best inexpensive .22 auto pistol going, in its current form, the MK III, it leaves a bit to be desired. The 10/22, for the price, is an excellent little plinker and with so many accessories can be made just that much better......or completely junked up. The 77/22 is great as well, although they often have headspace issues, thankfully this is usually an easy fix. Another nice feature about all of these is they make excellent hosts for integral suppressors, which probably makes Bill Ruger roll over in his grave, just an added bonus, as far as I am concerned. Of all the .22's I have, and I have a lot of them, probably my favorite shooter/plinker is an old 16" AWC integrally suppressed 77/22 with a 4X Burris mini-scope on top of it.

I hope I don't get in trouble for saying this...but...
Has anyone besides me though, had the urge to make a real boat anchor out of a Ruger?
If I ever see one cheap enough, I will.

Here's an early M77R flatbolt in .308 Winchester with tang safety. Serial number indicates it's a 1969 gun, according to Ruger's serial number ID chart.
Since acquiring this gun, I've learned on the Ruger Forum that this gun, serial number 70-017XX, is possibly the earliest known Model 77 flatbolt in .308 Winchester since Ruger started the "prefix" serial number system.
The earliest known prefix M77R 308 flatbolts are in the 70-04902 to 70-50983 S/N range, according to "THE RED EAGLE NEWS EXCHANGE".
The stock, I believe is a Fajen Aristocrat and the scope is a Redfield 3x-9x.

Super Blackhawk 10"1/2 44 Mag
Vaquero 5.5" 45 Colt and 45 ACP
Mark I .22
Single Six .22 and .22 Mag
New Model Blackhawk .30 Carbine
Latest purchase LCP
I fired the LCP last weekend and I was amazed at the difference in the shooting experience vs the .380 Kel-Tec that I recently sold. THe Ruger had less felt recoil, a smother trigger pull and was more accurate.

Well, I have some Rugers. A couple of 10-22s, a 181 series Mini 14 I bought back in 1980, a New Model .45 convertible, and a #3 Liberty in .45-70 that I am trading for a #1 in the same caliber. I really like the #1, but I'm not a Ruger fan. The warning barrels were hideous, and remember the folly of their version of the M1A. I've never liked the looks of any of their DA guns. The only one I would really like to get now is a stainless, fixed sight Old Army, but all my pistol money goes into Smiths.
