Have an old(like new condition) Standard with 6 inch barrel and a much better trigger than most of the new ones. Also a NIB 10-22 Deluxe Sporter I bought about 10 years ago. Had(sorry I still don't have) a very early .357 Blackhawk.

phenson,

One of my absolute favorite's is the .32 Mag birdshead. Prolly the most accurate fixed sight gun I own. I hotrodded the loads for it, going over to better brass...and am amazed at this little passed over caliber.

They make a fine field gun for potting rabbits and other game for a camp stew pot....

The gun convinced me that it is second only to the .45 Long Colt in usefulness....

Default I didn't come clean 100%....

In addition to the .308 M77 I posted a couple pages back....

I also have four 10/22 rifles...three standard carbines and a NIB "Wally World 10/22" stainless rifle with 22" barrel.

A 1974 "Standard Automatic Pistol".

A 50th Anniversary Mark II...NIB.

And, my 4" blued GP-100.

I guess that makes eight Rugers...unless I'm forgetting any.

100+ but all are mostly rifles of some sort plus a few shotguns.

More #1s than anything else 50+

Grew up with and carried S&Ws all my life. I did own one Ruger SA in 44 Special but I just can't get that rotate in the hand under full recoil stuff to work for me. I prefer the straight back recoil of the S&W frame.

I do own one SA but it's a Cimarron Thunderer in 44 Special and the grip frame is close to the S&W and the recoil comes straight back.

No closet owner here, I own several and will always own Ruger single action revolvers.
The 10/22's are just down right fun.
I will admit to not owning any double action revolvers or semi-autos. I've had them but didn't like them enough to keep them.

I have these three. A model 77 7x57 made in 1980, A single six from 1959, and a .32 H&R mag single six from 1985. Some have escaped me, even a old .256 mag hawkeye.

Default Closet Ruger Owner?

My first handgun was a New Model Blackhawk .357, have carried that one hunting for many years. My second was a MkII with the 10" bull barrel and now my third was the .380 LCP.
My only mistake was that when I bought the Blackhawk I didn't get the 9mm cylinder for it. The shop owner at the time had no use for 9mm and talked me out of it! I was young and stupid, what can I say!

Regards,
LnL................

I currently have a 10/22 that I'm turning into a 100 yard rifle.

Also, I recently fell in love with this little 32 Magnum:

I own a old Super Black Hawk that is beat near to death. Looks like it has been used to drive nails and fix barbwire fence. Also a 10-22.

I look forward to purchasing a 77/44 and a Super Red .44.

I have a buddy in Arkansas that has my next dear rifle for me. A gift. He wont tell me what it is. But I'm hoping a 77/44.

i have only 1 and that's just because smith doesn't make a 30 carbine pistol, preferably with an 8 3/38 bbl on an l-frame would be great.

I have half a dozen. This is my latest. I bought it for $425 at a gunshow 3 weeks ago, guy had a hard luck story. It had a broken rear sight. I sent it to Ruger and a week later a new one appeared in my mailbox with the pictured invoice. Not many companies would do that for a 20 year old gun. Joe

I've owned three.

Super Blackhawk: strong and accurate. No complaints, but I just decided single action wasn't for me. Sold it, never missed it.
Mini-14: super reliable, easy to maintain. Accuracy left a lot to be desired especially after the barrel heated up. Again, sold and never missed it.

77R, .30-06: this is an older one with the tang safety (where a hunting rifle safety really should be IMHO). Smooth, accurate and has accounted for a pile of deer. It's staying.

Here's my thing: Ruger single actions, S&W double actions, and Colt semi-autos.

i have a ruger blackhawk and a mark 2, and both are very quality pistols that i enjoy shooting with my best friend. its not uncommon for both of us to shoot a brick on a nice afternoon. very nice plinking guns, accurate and cheap to feed!

I have two. One is a flat top 50th anniversary model in 44 mag and the other is the 44 spl Lipsey model with 4 5/8" barrel. I like them very much in the flat top version as they are a little slimmer and more attractive to me. Besides I wanted something to hot rod and what better than a Ruger, which can take it over and over and over.
The wife got me a CHRISTmas present for the Lipsey model; an El Paso Saddlery belt, holster and cartride carrier in their deluxe floral carved pattern. Oh yeah, the holster is the Tom Threeperson model. WOW , talk about being the man. I am him. I like the Rugers though I am not much for Single Actions. But these two are some kind of accurate.

I'm a Ruger fan also. It's darn hard to wear one out. Both handguns and long guns, while some are not thoroughbreds, they are all work horses.

i've owned a few others over the years that im ashamed to say ive let go of, but the current roster of Rugers includes:
*.357 1976 edition 4.5/8 stainless blawkhawk
*.44mag blackhawk 5.5 inch stainless
*.45 colt blackhawk 4.5/8 stainless
*10.22 modified with volquartsen guts and bull barrell and fajen stock.
*stainless mk11 .22 that was won at a NRA dinner of 750 as marked on the barrell
* 44 carbine no warning label on barrel
* 358 win tang safety M77.

ifin i could ever find a RSI in .308 or .358 id jump on it. i have passed on some beautys No1's though

I am not in the closet at all. I'll tell anyone that I like them. Most all of mine are pre ban sidefolding Mini 14s though. Here are pics of two of them. That is my "hang up" but I have others.

There have been many Rugers in my safe. Started with a standard model 22 Red Eagle in 1954. No, I don't have it anymore. Then a couple 357 SA's & in 1958 I bought the first Bearcat I saw. #A1xx. No, don't have that one either. Now down to a 10-22 & a P-95. I like 'em.

My first handgun was a Ruger Single Six convertable (22LR and 22Mag) with a 6.5 inch barrel. Still have it and love plinking with it.

I followed it up with Ruger Blackhawk convertable (45LC and 45acp) with a 5.5 inch barrel. Still have it and love plinking with it.

Then I bought my favorite Ruger, a Red Label O/U 12 gauge shotgun with 26in barrels. My favorite pheasant buster.

Ruger makes a fine gun, not as polished as the S&Ws but certainly functional enough.

There are two single-action Rugers in the closet, and a single-action Colt. They're outnumbered by the double-action Smiths.

Nothing wrong with a Ruger. I have had many over the years. Currently own a Red Label, 10-22, Ruger Standard and my wife carries a LCR now.

Won't bother with a pic, but when I started buying guns again just over two years ago, the first thing I picked up was a slab-side Ruger Mk III competition. Nice gun, but no more accurate than any of the K-22s I have picked up since and a lot tougher to disassemble and clean.

The next one I bought was a new 629, and I haven't left the S&W reservation since.
