Sir, I've owned a fair number of Rugers over the years, none right now. Kinda like to have another Super Blackhawk.

Hope this helps, and Semper Fi.

Nothing closet about it, Giz. I'm perfectly proud to wave my Rugers around on the range. I'm still a big fan of my Charger. I might even consider getting another (if I could find an early one with the metal trigger group) and gussying it up some.

My Rugers are the work horses in the stable. I have no problem showing them off at the range. The huge scoped .44 mag. Super Redhawk gets lots of attention!

I like Rugers, just don’t own any. Bid on a SP101 at a local auction last week, but got out bidded. I wouldn’t mind having a couple of New Vaqueros in .357 if I could get them for a decent price.

yeah, I got a few... quite a few. Actually outnumber S&Ws. Mostly old model Blackhawks. Giz, is that a 7 1/2" flattop .44? I have one that length. My favorite sixgun, hands-down.

P.S. Myers?

I'M A RUGER GUY ! ! (not embarassed to shout it) I only own 2 but they are both great. I have a 9 1/2" New Model Single Six that is chambered in .22LR / .22 WRM. It was mfg in 1979--is a mint blue & walnut beauty that is a tack-driver, esp in .22Mag. I also own a Mark II Government Target Model. It was mfg in 1986, has a 6 7/8" Bull Barrel, was created to meet US Military specs for match grade pistols and was chosen as the standard target and training handgun of the US Armed Forces. This is the "competition-grade" version of the Ruger autoloader line. It's in walnut & Blue also. It carries an Aimpoint, and is loaded up with Volquartsen parts. I've been shooting this one in a Small Bore Pistol League for over 20 yrs (very successfully) against S&W Model 41's, High Standards, Walthers and a coupla Hamerliis. Sooo, that's it. I'm glad to have this dark secret off my chest..............one eye joe

I got 'em. I like 'em. GP-100, SP-101, MK II .22, bull barrel version.

Had to sell my stainless Super Blackhawk some years ago. May replace it. It was very accurate, and the recoil was less than with a Smith DA revolver in .44 Magnum.

Rugers are often more durable than S&W's, if less refined. However, they have recently closed that gap a lot, and S&W has The Lock, so I'm not buying any new S&W's.

It is noteworthy that Ruger seems to be the only revolver brand other than S&W that has gathered large police and military contracts in recent times. That speaks well of them!

It is, and if I may...you should register yours with Chad Pennington over on the Ruger forum...if it is a unknown gun. They are rare birds...

Wheelgunner, those guns on rocks pics that Giz puts up does the same thing to me. But, you have to hand it to him ..... he takes great pics. (Giz don't get the "big head" from the pic compliment).

No closets for me or my Rugers. I'm quite proud of them.

From left, a Security Six .357, a rather rare Redhawk in .357, an LCP with the CT laser, a GP 100 .357, and a Single Six .22.

Only have two, at the moment. Had several more and would not hesitate to purchase another. Especially an older single six.

Here are my only two Rugers.

I am also in the club. I have a Single Six convertible 22/22mag in 4 5/8", Blackhawk 6 1/2" .357/.38 special and a GP-100 in 6" .357 mag. I am currently in the market for a Blackhawk in .45 LC, especially since the S&W .45's are very pricey and rather inflexible.

In addition, am I the only Ruger owner who really dislikes the black rubber grips on the SA Blackhawks? Just doesn't seem in character for a cowboy style gun.

Yep, you may have to grow to like them...the original Rugers were that way, and us Grizzley Old Farts (GOF's) have come to admire 'em over the years.

Here's a pair of first year production 10/22's...
One in an International Stock, the other in a Sporter...enjoy!

I would love to have an example of the sp101's in the different calibers. I keep looking for a 32H&R and a 22 at a good price. I don't know if it is the collector bug in me or what but thought it would be cool to have one in all the calibers.

I have a 3 screw, 7 1/2 in. Super Blackhawk in .44 mag. Awhile back I got to thinking I hadn't shot it in a while so I got it out. I saw those ugly rubber grips on it and thought that was the uglist gun I had ever saw and couldn't figure out why I put those grips on it. I took them off and put the wood grips on. I had some shells loaded with a 240 gr. bullet and 22 grs. of 2400. One shot and I remembered why the rubber grips were on the gun. I have a couple of 3 screw 6 1/2 blackhawks in .357 and the wood grips work just fine. Larry

I probably have one or two Rugers to keep my one or two S&W's company. (Maybe a Colt as well)

Default I don't have as many as Giz...

Here's my prize Ruger. How many 7 1/2" barrelled .41 Blackhawks have you come across? I've seen one...this one.

This .41 is responsible for the demise of more than one Maine black bear.

Well, I only have two at the moment. My daily carry 10/22 and this one. A pre-warning .45 acp/.45 Colt convertible. I love this pistol.

Here she is with some sambar stags.

I have collected flatop three screw Rugers for years. I started when five screw Smiths got too expensive.

OK, gulp! I do have a Security Six that I bought unfired with box and papers late last year. Man, I feel better now.I have even admitted to owning a couple of .380's.Fessing up really does help. I also own a rifle in .243, and I have 6 or 7 Smith and Wesson revolvers with the lock. This is getting better. I even had a revolver refinished about two years ago.

I love my Rugers. My first gun was a 10/22 I bought at the age of 12 in 1971, and I still have it.

This is my bump in the night gun:

And this is another old friend:

I'll have to get some pictures of my others. My main hunting gun is a Model 77 in .300 WM with the old boatpaddle stock. My wife's main rifle is a Model 77 Compact in .260 Remington.

Oddly, I've often heard Ruger fans disparage Smiths, but I rarely hear Smith fans disparage Rugers.

I just have one....no big fan of Rugers but I wanted a nice little snubbie to keep the round count down on my 442 and this fits the bill nicely...I like it a bit better than the newer IL model 60s. I even carry it quite a bit...I used to have a 2 1/2 inch Service six in stainless (was holding it for a friend for some years) and I liked shooting it even more than the smith 65...hope that isn't too blasphemous.

sigp220.45 ............that's a nice Speed-Six you got for a "bump in the night" gun. I have one that I use as my "truck gun". I love my S&W's but I really like to shoot the Speed Six.........someone did a trigger job on it before I aquired it and it's almost as smooth as a S&W.

Have the obligatory 10/22 and replaced the IL 442 with an SP101; would love to have more Rugers.

I've got a bunch of Rugers and I love them all, however, Ruger has not been without problems recently.

"Back in the day", Ruger was always known as the gun that was the best bang for the buck. They were well designed, well engineered, fulfilled a niche in the market and were just plain great guns. They were "everyman's" gun.

Early on I had the MK I, or as it was known then the "Standard". Like a fool I parted with it and learned an important lesson. Since then it's been replaced with a MKII.

In the single action department I have a Single-Six convertible and double action is covered by the Security-Six.

As for the rifles, I have the wonderful #3 single action, M77 bolt action and two 10/22s, the classic of all rimfires.

Recently I acquired a KP95DC and KP97DC, tupperware bottom feeders. Here is where the "rub" comes in.

Both of these guns had to be "fixed" before the became reliable. They work great now and I trust them, but not until re engineered replacement parts were installed (free of charge) to correct design flaws.

Since then Ruger has had problems with other "P" pistols as well as the infamous LCP.

It seems that Ruger is getting away from what they do well. The single action revolvers are classics and their rifles were great firearms (possibly with the exception of the Mini-14).

The debacle with the LCP was completely uncalled for. The design was not innovative and it was released before it had been debugged.

Ruger needs to clean up their act and start getting this stuff right the first time, instead of after the fact.

Last but not least, their recent entry into the AR field appears to be an answer to a question that hasn't even been asked. I'm positive Ruger can produce an excellent AR, but to me, the jury is still out on their latest.

I know this is just dreaming, however, I would like to see a return of the "old" Ruger. Is that dreaming? Probably so.

I have a few Rugers, among them a Service Six that I bought inexpensive as a project gun for more rust blueing experience. Closest thing to a K-frame besides a K-Frame.

I have a few:
10/22 carbine, New Model Super Blackhawk .44 Mag
Mk. II in .243, GP-100 in .357 Mag
Mini-30 Ranch Rifle
All are stainless steel (except the 10/22) that work well in Florida's damp and humid climate. They are well built and can take a beatin' and keep on tickin'!
