Default My Instructor's Detective Special will be going for a facelift

My beloved Detective Special will be going to Colt for a full tune up and rebluing. When helping his daughters clearing out his home I came across a picture of him carrying it in the early 1970's and it was very impressive.I will be posting all the after pics when it comes back home....God Bless.......Mike PICT0006 pictures from hobbies & interests photos on webshots

It will absolutely be going back to colt for all the work.Everyone was saying how great it will look with a total rebluing and when seeing pics of Abe with that gun when it was new I would agree.I also noticed a few times where some rounds had light hammer stikes and when loaded again fired without problem so it is good that the innerworks get looked at also.I know that either way he is happy that both his 1911 and detective special are being enjoyed by two of his students that are now Instructors.....God Bless....Mike
