Default abbreviations, and posting new threads

I am not sure if it exists, but a place to look up the abbreviations used by members that are well seasoned. Being new to these, I have a hard time trying to figure out what some stand for.JMO.----Also it would be nice to have a link to click on that reads post new thread on the main page, with a index of the topics available to post to, JMO again

Thanks
