Starting to HATE This Site
Has anyone else had the problem where you can not navigate on this site while the video ads are playing? Once they are done, control is returned to you. Making one stay on the site is certainly not going to make me view the ad! Just my $0.02.

What browser are you using?
I don't have such an issue. I've used IE, Firefox (PC), Safari, Mercury, Chrome (iPad), and Tapatalk (iPad and iPhone).

The owner of this forum has limited control over the content of the ads. But I do believe that video ads are not allowed.
One way to get rid of all of the ads expect the small one at the top is to donate. http://smith-wessonforum.com/payments.php. It helps offset the cost of running this forum.
Many have had the same complaint about the ads. Most of the time it has something to do with the users computer, their browser, or settings.
Try another browser such as Firefox or Chrome. Or try deleting your temporary files and cookies. Make sure programs such as Java and Flash are updated.
I and many others have solved the problem by doing the above. Haven't had a problem since.

Just stroking on through on the iPad.
The ads are there, I mostly just ignore them.

the ROI for even a bronze membership is out of this world. considering the knowledge, opportunities, and the money this site has saved me, make the membership fees a bargain by any measure. The fact that I dont see ads is langiappe. If you choose not to that's cool as well, the advertisers will pay your share but in return for doing so, you give up some control.

We do not have video ads that operate in the fashion you describe. We don't allow video ads here period. Some do "slip through" and are killed as soon as we find out. -- but none of those that slip through would take control of your browser and not allow you to navigate until they are through. That is not the way the ads are fed to us, nor how we present them.
I would suggest a visit to malwarebytes.org and download their free utility. Also as previously posted, insure that Java, and Flash are up to date. Microsoft has updated 3 times in the last week due to unnamed security issues - make sure your windows has all the latest security patches. Often times resetting your browser to original defaults is necessary after you have cleaned up malware.
I personally ran into a nasty on the web and it took uninstalling chrome and reinstalling it after the malware cleanup in order to get chrome back on track.

It definitely sounds like some sort of malware has been downloaded and installed on your computer. This is common, especially if there are other people in your residence that have access to the computer.
Malwarebytes works very well, the paid version is worth the price.

Maybe he means the time it takes for ads on the page to load. Sometimes I have to wait while that happens.
