Default Ads Taking Over the Screen

Is anyone else getting annoying advertisements that take over the entire web page you're viewing? It has happened to me repeatedly, but on this site only.

The ads vary a lot. One was "You don't have to be perfect to be a parent" (must have been something about foster care or adoption?) The top of the page says you can resume in 6 seconds. When it counts down to zero, the page is blank.

I can get away from this ad by hitting the back arrow, but dang it! this is annoying!

No, that's not it. I'll try to get a screen shot if it happens again. I just assumed it was an advertiser gone berserk...

What we need is the address when it changes the page.
Just right click the address bar, select "copy", and paste it here for us.
Then we can handle it.

To me this constitutes hacking. On my computer the S&W site does NOT resume after 6 seconds nor does the Go To Site link go anywhere I want to be.

Here is the offending URL. Note how darned LONG it is.

http://go.goadvs.com/intrsl?id=28&uu...abZ1B29DXFYe9E

Edited to add:-

These full page takeovers are making the site unusable. I'll come back in a few days to see if it's sorted.

I was posting a reply earlier today that included a picture. When I clicked on the picture in my post I got the same thing you did.I just figured it was something embedded in my picture so I deleted it.

Otherwise I haven't had any issues.

It only happened on the S&W site, nowhere else. I do have the better Norton and Firefox ----and I have a thin black line across my screen only when i'm making a reply , like a faulty screen, but again only on this site.
Maybe it's something on my end, but again only on this site

Some of us have reported this in the Forum Office, so the Admins are aware of it.

I just swept my machine from end to end and nothing like a virus shows. A bit of trawling around the Web showed that there IS a redirect virus using the URLs we are seeing, but it is easy to see on your machine with the most basic knowledge.

Weird thing is, I had the page redirect when looking at Gunbroker, so I wonder if it something that has infected gun sites.

Default Annoyed at new adds

Whats the deal with the new pop up adds that pop up when you
are viewing a thread. And pop up every time you click on forum.
Sometimes 2 or 3 times in a row. When add runs its time then
screen goes blank. You have to go back to get on, if you are
lucky you don't get it again! It's getting aggravating to say the
least!

I had the problem this afternoon, but only on the For Sale threads. Now it seems to be gone, so some one must have removed whatever was causing the ads (I hope!).
I did discover that if I opened the thread using the " open in new tab" the ads did not show up.

We are aware of this.
We simply could not stop them over the holiday weekend.
Keep posting if you see them, please.

I got them for the first time this morning. I was posting a "ship date" request when it happened. Don't know if it's related, but now when I open Gun Broker, the page is "scrambled" for want of a better term. Tried re-booting with no help.

If it was on the ship date request, it has to be Roy. He has finally found a way to slow down the requests!
