I would like to know if I may alert my fellow shooters and buyers about fraudulent practices of a local dealer and indoor range operator in my area. My recent discussions with friends have opened revelations from grazing parts and accessories
from firearms shipped to him to overcharging after an understanding of what will be charged to inappropriate behavior in a business setting,to the point of being provocative.
If so please let me know how to go about this and be within the forum rules.
Im not kidding. My best friend was recently taken advantage of, mag missing, he saw it before the transfer, had to wait for owner to log it and returned the boxed gun with one mag when he had just seen 2. The same gun blew out the mag and when he brought it back was told, bad ammo, just keep shooting it. My friend returned the rifle to the manufacturer and it was replaced due to an incorrectable headspace problem and unsafe to shoot.
Myself: Disabled Vet, non combat related. I was double charged for needing a helper to staple (2) targets. He knew she was there to put up the targets and only that. When I questioned the double charge I was verbally assaulted in the presence of other customers, called "one of those people that dont pay my way" which was false and with the wrong guy could have been pretty bad. Then threatened. I paid the double charge after realizing he had not run my card. I guess if I were "one of those people" that dont pay my way, I would have walked but my pride and dignity was attacked.
Another friend was accused of shooting the indoor range ceiling and refused return of his range held drivers license until he paid $100. He knew exactly his round count and all were on paper. He was called a liar and threatened with arrest.
As a service to my fellow shooters and forum members I would like to warn you before conducting any business there.
I will gladly give you the business name by PM or email using my contact info.
Shooting people are good people but even we have our bad apples. Hope you realize this is not intended to be a vendetta.
Its more " if you know something, say somthing." It will just go on if people dont know the kind of people they are dealing with.
As for me, I worked in the states largest gunshop and a smaller local one. Never have I seen anything like this.
Thank you for taking this under consideration.
Jim
