Email Scam using S&W forum pics?

Not sure where to post this or how to address it...

I received an email today from "Tom" grips13 @ Smith & Wesson Forum asking me if I had Roper grips for sale. I do not.... I still own them and they are not for sale.

Seems that someone has copied my Roper grip photos from the forum here and is offering them for sale. This is the only forum that I've posted these pics.

I have not seen these photos so I really can't confirm they are mine.

I tried to answer Tom - grips13 @ Smith & Wesson Forum and he is not accepting messages thru this forum.

I hope this has not happened to anyone else... whether it's one of my guns or accessories or anyone else.

Linda, if you Google search that email address, this is a known scammer posting on multiple firearms forums doing the same thing, lifting and using others' photos as part of the scam.

Without a forum username, there's really nothing we can do.

That's the reason we recommend you should NEVER post your phone number, email address or other contact information where it can be seen by anyone reading the forum.

Members should have prospective sellers/buyers contact them through the forum (PM or forwarded email). Only registered members can use those systems and your email address isn't visible unless your reply from your email.
