Default Page bounce

Why is it when I open a thread and then backspace to the thread topics, the page shoots to the bottom of the screen? Then I have to scroll back up to find where I left off.

Things to try:

Refresh your browser.
Clear out old cookies.
Up date your browser to the newest version.
Up date your virus software to the newest version.
Check your computer using an anti-malware program.

Keep this in mind: reporting you are having an issue without supplying specifics, like how you are accessing the site and what equipment and software you are using including browser, antivirus program makes it nearly impossible for people to help.

H30, you are not alone out there!
If I find the solution I'll let you know. Please do the same for me.
This problem came out of nowhere and I wish it would go back......

One of the mods pointed out this forum is not compatible with IE. For the most part I have no problems navigating this place yet every once in a great while an odd glitch will occur such as using backspace to correct a typo and returning to the previous page losing the post. Or as just happened using the space bar and scrolling to the bottom of the page.
I deal with it as I'm too lazy to switch browsers.

I didn't see the relevance in your suggestions but checked them anyway, all is well.

What came to mind when checking my browser update (google chrome) was to try another browser, so I tried Microsoft Edge my default browser and the problem went away.

I like Chrome, it's faster and cleaner then Edge. This is the only site I have a problem using Chrome. What could it be?

Same for me, I had no problems for a long time. I tried a different browser and the problem stopped. Give that a try.

Now that I'm paying more attention it appears that after I read a thread and back space to the thread topics, the page goes to the last add on the page instead of where I left off.... Hmmm.

If it started doing it after you updated Chrome, then try going back to the previous version. Many times up dates of browsers may fix one issue only to create others. IE was notorious for this and is probably why MS has chosen to abandon it in favor of a whole new browser.

I have had some success. I went in to Chrome, and deleted browsing history files (and other related files that are offered as optional). I did this twice, and now things seem to be a bit better with a lot less jumping. (Funny, all my problems were 'here'.)
