Default Same Problem

I would like to see an answer to this question. I have the same issue. When I hover over a thumbnail of a picture the screen turns nearly opaque black as if my PC is trying to show the full size picture, but can't download the file. I can scroll off the black rectangle and see the rest of the thread, but the semi-opaque rectangle remains until I return to the previous screen. My PC? Not likely. My browser? Maybe. I use IE 8, long superseded, but I'm not willing to update.........yet.

99% sure it's your browser. MS has stopped supporting IE, so updating probably won't help anyway. Try using another browser like Firefox and see if the problem doesn't go away. For protection against viruses and malware, you should switch to a browser that is updated (and continues to update against new threats) anyway. Many people like Google Chrome, however given Google's past record for data mining and profiting off of people's browsing history, I refuse to use it.

I use Internet Explorer updated to the latest version. I have had this problem numerous times including today. What I do is close all windows I'm in and then do a "restart" of my computer. It takes about 3 minutes. I then open a window with IE, go to the S&W forum and all the pictures open just like the should.
I hope that this helps;
Mike

My picture problem went away when I became a contributor.

I'm guessing it had something to do with the Ads conflicting with or confusing my browser. ( ??? ) But ...... that's an UN-educated guess.

This is the only gunboard that gives me that effect.
I have a workaround, go to the index where it shows the attachment paperclip symbol and click on that to get a list of pictures. I can then call them up individually. Sometimes. I can usually get only the first set in the thread.

HEHEHE, maybe that's the answer but, I've done this (not recently but in the past), without success? This is just one of the many issues I have on this forum.
