Default "Forum Issues"

I am getting the following message when I log on to the forum:

Forum Issues

Log off, clear temp files/internet cache, then log back on, otherwise you will not see changes Thanks for your patience.

Did I miss something? Can someone explain what I am supposed to do? (and what this is about) Thanks

Geno, we all get that message.

What is going on is that the guys who administer this forum -- those who try to keep it running smoothly -- are trying to get it to work better.

This means that we need to follow the instructions, as you quote them, in order to use the forum.

I'm thinking what he means, is that he doesn't know how to "clear temp files/internet cache", which seems like a pretty legitimate question, as some people may not understand what that means.

Why do so many people think that everyone knows all about this computer garbage?

I agree. It's pretty easy, but there are slight differences between Windows/Mac/Whatever. It's probably easiest to just type the question into your browser - "How do I clear temporary files on Windows", and simple instructions should pop right up. Some computer people recommend doing this every couple of weeks, but I don't think most people do it nearly that often.

One thing to be aware of is that when you do this, you're going to have to log back in to all your sites like Facebook, email, etc. So remember those passwords!

Following instructions gets me nowhere. Tapatalk is my only option. Not much else I can do.

But if I clear all the cookies from the browser I will lose all my loaded "log ons" and passwords on the dozens of sites I use. That will be a royal pain to have to re enter all that.

"What is going on is that the guys who administer this forum -- those who try to keep it running smoothly -- are trying to get it to work better. "

Perhaps the people who changed it might consider putting it back the way it was when it worked fine?

Just a humble suggestion.

My issue is that I cleared my temp files on my MAC, but still when I log on, there is a very old "New Posts" (the same one) that comes up. I can go to the top of the page and click "New Posts" and I actually get new posts. Another thing is when I go to "User CP" it always shows this: "There are no subscribed threads to display in this folder for this time period" when there clearly are.

That's not going to happen. Forum software is just like operating software in that periodically it must be updated to stay ahead of hackers, viruses and the like.
