Erroneous message that my mailbox is full

I just got an email saying someone was trying to send a pm but my message box was full.

I checked: it showed I had 9 messages stored of 25 allowed: ergo I should have space for 16 new messages.

What's going on here?

I'd appreciate a response from the forum managers: I've never seen a response provided to a question or comment to the Forum Office

One possibility is PM count includes messages you've sent as well as received, so if you haven't cleared out messages you've sent, it could be putting you over the limit.

The email may not have been from the forum. You don't have your profile set to accept emails forwarded by our system, so our members can't send you an email.

We frequently receive requests to contact members with full mailboxes (mostly related to the classifieds). Staff messages ALWAYS go through, so we would let you know by PM, not email.

You obviously haven't looked very hard. We answer questions and try to assist members whenever we can. This is a very busy board with over 1000 posts per day and we put in a lot of time moderating (without compensation). The staff does look at the office posts and works very hard to keep the forum running smoothly.

Scathing criticisms don't always warrant a reply. You might not like what we'd have to say, anyway...
