I doubt you will hurt either barrel, cylinder, or frame. The "danger" comes with excessive upset of jacketed .22 WRFM ammunition. I have read for years that firing it in an undersized bore can cause jacket failure and result in fragmenting of the jacket and (of course) unacceptable accuracy. Obviously, this could be dangerous if bits of jacket stay in the bore and subsequent rounds are fired. I can't prove any of this and don't offer it as advice - just repeating what I have read in the past.
