Responding to posts

Is there a way to notify someone in a thread that you have posted an answer to their question or comment in the thread other than sending them a PM?

Many times during a discussion someone will raise a question and ten posts later I have posted an answer. I am never sure if the person asking sees my answer or realizes that an answer has been posted. Sometimes I have used the LIKE button on their post in an effort to bring them back to the thread.

Just wondering if there is another way to do this that I am missing?

Conversely, is there a way to now if someone has answered my question in a thread or added posts to a thread that I was participating in?

The only way for someone to be notified of a reply to their post is if they have turned on that option. They would have to go to USER CP and select EDIT OPTIONS and then choose their preferred notification option in the DEFAULT THREAD SUBSCRIPTION MODE area.
