I finally joined this forum last night, and made my first post. I was given a notification that it was awaiting the approval of a moderator before being posted. But at this point, it has never shown up. Is this the typical expected delay to get a post approved on this site?

Sorry for the delay in responding and welcome to the board. All of your posts should now be visible.
Posts from new members do not typically require approval from a staff member. I don't fully understand how our automated flagging system works, but it could be the server that you posted from. You should be good to go from this point on, but reply to this thread if you experience the issue again.
