Same here. It’s taken me 4 attempts this AM to get a clear shot ( no pund intended ) into the forum. I went to my local Apple Store complaining about thier product and was informed that”iPads can’t be infected “ with malware. Hmmmm...........sure........

It’s happening right now, as I log on, and I’m fed up so I’m getting off of the Forum for awhile to see if this gets fixed.

That's kinda like ignoring that funny noise in your front wheel when you turn. It ain't the road . . .

This has now been happening so frequently this site is virtually unusable on my apple products >
It’s only apple products and only on this site with both safari and chrome. Wish I knew more about this stuff.

Yep - what he said!
Took me 4-5 attempts to check this thread. Only here.
Talked to the geeks at work - their best guess not knowing details is "sounds site specific".

It only happens on this site. I'm no internet genius but that makes me believe it's site specific.

No, it’s more like getting sick of a seemingly unfixable, irritating, noise in your front wheel, so you stop driving the car.
Front end parts are much more straight forward than this problem, that’s for sure.

Those aren’t fixes or solutions. Neither is shutting off java, which was also mentioned. Those band aid methods of using this site would certainly fall under post #109.
Why does this only happen with this site? Several posters here are saying they only experience this issue on this site. Post number 1 in the link offers an explanation. There is something coming through this site that doesn’t play nicely with Apple devices.
This problem occurs at home, work, hotels all over the country, at the mother in law’s....it’s not my router or isp. Clearing history does nothing. There seems to be two commonalities: Smith-Wessonforum.com and Apple devices.

As I stated before, I've been on other sites where users said the same thing - it had to be that site - and it wasn't. Two of the sites, I had background access to as a mod, and in both sites it was NOT something related to the site. Looking at reports, it appears to be coming from Google advertisers (not from Google themselves) and this forum has no control over that.
You are correct in citing the two commonalities, and as several of the links point out, including the ones we have both posted, the commonality is Apple products: as in malware directed at those specific products. I also suggested folks look into obtaining a malware program to help prevent these problems. In fact, I went so far as to recommend one, Malwarebytes, which is free. People are still living under the misconception that Apple is a problem free environment, but it's not. If it was, none of these reports would exist.

Just FYI, the issue is with iOS on iPhones and iPads. I don't believe Malwarebytes has a product for that. Just Mac OS.

How are google advertisers blasting me with their spam only when I’m on this site, and not others?
If I need malware protection to stop this, it will be the first time, and only time, in five years of using Apple products that I’ve needed such to reliably view a site.
The commonalities, plural, I observe remain to be my apple devices AND my experience on this site only. For what it’s worth, this wasn’t happening at all before I started this thread a few months ago, and 100% of my mobile experience using this site has been with Apple devices. Never used to be a problem on this site for me using an iPhone or iPad until fairly recently.
Did an OS upgrade allow something through? Maybe...but it’s still only happening on this site.

I thought buying a new iPad would fix it but it didn't. I'm deleting the forum. Too much trouble to read. Used to enjoy the forum.

So, since words have meaning, reading the above comment for content, you started this thread and then you started having problems?
It wasn't happening before you started this thread. Why did you start the thread?

I had problems staying logged in, viewing pictures, being slow to load and something else.....I don't remember. This was the only site that threw me fits so I was convinced the problem was site-related.
I accepted someone's advice to contribute and rid myself of the ads. They assured me this would fix at least some of my problems .... mainly viewing pics.
Nary a problem since. Lord knows I've benefited 100-fold over whatever my voluntary "dues" are.
You Apple users and non-contributors are free to continue to punish yourselves all you like. Me? Life's short; I've moved on.
Merry Christmas to all.

You got me muss. Good job. This issue began shortly before i started this thread. That’s how I managed to get the screen shot in the first post without collapsing time and space.

Well, I'd just stick with the device that you've used for the 100+ posts you've made since you started this thread . . .
