It started about a week ago. Everytime I log onto the forum if I stay for more an two minutes a .exe file downloads to my PC. It's called "DriverUpdate.exe". I'm using windows 10 and my browser is Google chrome. Everything is up to date and the only time this occurs is when I log onto the forum. I even have "automatic downloads on this page Blocked and it still downloads.
Per Google, it's a piece of Malware. If you aren't already running a malware program, I recommend Malwarebytes. The premium version isn't expensive, but they also have a free version. I've used it since malware started to become an issue (10 years?) and have had zero problems with malware.
I have no interests in the company, but believe in endorsing products that have proved worthy. That means I also bad mouth the ones that aren't worthy.
Ditto on the Malwarebytes. And ditto on the "Driverupdate.exe" file whenever I pull up the forum. Malwarebytes isolates it as 'AdwareAppearch' where it can be quarantined and removed. It appears to be a tag on Google Chrome.

Not surprised it's a Chrome tag along. I don't and never will use Chrome. I don't know for a fact that Firefox is any better, but my experience with Google is they are very sneaky about mining your data.

I use Firefox and Norton 360 on every machine, mobile and otherwise, and I've yet to experience any of the issues oft described in The Forum Office . . .
