WTS "LIKES"
Can we please implement a rule that does not allow a "Like" for a WTS post?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say no. I believe it's probably turn it on or off for everything, not just one category.
But curiosity makes me ask - why does having it bother you?

I think you should understand why people LIKE items in the WTS ads.
People LIKE items because they appreciate them. But for one reason or another they aren’t interested in buying.
As per the rules we are not allowed to post comments in a WTS thread. So a LIKE is given instead.

I think a lot of us will add a “like” to a FS ad when we see what is offered and we believe that it’s a solid deal or a fantastic one.
Put it another way... you don’t see many likes on a FS post even if the gun that is offered is awesome, if the price seems absurdly high.

I thought you wanted to sell your "likes" like selling followers and was gonna ask how much but you only have 57 so I'll craw back into my hole for now.

My response would be, "why bother?" If you "like" it, buy it, otherwise, look at the ad and keep surfing.

And the other side of the coin would be "what does it hurt"?
Is multiple people giving something for sale a "thumbs up" somehow a negative?
Or is it because the ads that don't get any "likes" feel left out?

When I see a gun for sale that I really like or might already have one -
Can’t comment, been violated for that,
So I’ll hang on a Like.

Strive not against the likes of others, Grasshoppah.
Leave each man to walk his own path, as you wish to walk yours.

It will take more than the SW forum to mess up my Zen.

It certainly has no impact on me either way if someone 'likes' an offering.
Just move on, nothing to see here or get riled up about.
I will leave a like if an offering is likable.

Another way to look at the "likes" (as why I hit like) on a WTS item is to give a nod on price, or item being sold. I see an item with a lot of likes on here, I assume something special and take a closer look.
I've never bought a gun here, maybe one day, but every gun in my collection except one was purchased by happenstance of just running across them.

I know you're a lawyer, but not my lawyer, but would you tell us anyway if he made a binding offer?
Do we have an actionable event here?

OK, speaking of 'Zen", whatever that is.....why do some folks put a "like" on every single post in a thread? Weird

all I know is...
I'm not liking this liking stuff,
unlike those who like just to like,
but that would be unlikely,
another 30 days of home confinement and more than likely I'll be needing a new like buttton

My guess is they are overly generous. Or perhaps it's just 'because they can'. Who knows? The answer lies with them.
I chuckle when I see strongly opposing opinions 'liked' by the same individual(s). Maybe it's just me, but I will like a comment if I like the content or agree with the statement.

In the overall scheme of things, there are better things to worry about.

A few times I have hit the "Like" in a post just because I enjoyed viewing the photo, even if I have no comment. I do not see why that should not apply to classified ads also.

To like or not to like. That is the question.

Better to have Liked and Lost
Than to never have Liked at all.

Moderators, do you ding folks for responding to WTS posts with anything other than ‘I’ll take it’? Asking for my Zen Master.

A Zen Master would already know the way of the ding, and he has heard those large bronze temple bells struck with the log go "doooongggggggg".
So, a Zen Master fully comprehends ding-dong.

If I start a thread that asks for information, and people take the time to reply with information, I will generally “like” each reply. It just seems like the polite thing to do.
I am also guilty of liking WTS posts, usually if there are good photos. Good photos should be encouraged.
