Default Reconstitue or otherwise revitalize dried leather holsters

I know we've got a number of holster makers and other leather workers here on the site. I can't go out an replace a number of holsters i've had for years. They were stored away for quite a bit of time, but now I find myself in need of some of them. While in storage the ones I want to use have dried out and also acquired something that's probably mildew. A couple just are affected by mildew. Those are just going to be cleaned up and maintained from here.
I will be starting by at least hitting them with saddle soap. But can they be returned to a reasonably functional state. They don't have to perform much more that just hold on to the firearms. They were all quality holsters at the time.
So these were all from at least 20 to 40 years old. And I can't afford to replace them.
Thanks,

Pete,
Check out a product called "Leather CPR." Can be found online and at Wallyworld. It's pretty dry here in AZ, so I use it on my holsters and slings every six months.

I used Lexol on my grandfather's saddle, which had been in a garage under a bunch of **** for years. It won't repair the leather, but it will keep it from getting any worse. It will also make hardened leather pliable again.

I'd check with member Turnriver. He collects old holsters and is an expert on them. Bet he knows.

I once put some leather softener/restorer -- made by Kiwi, I think, sorta a white oil cream -- on an old leather book cover. Bad mistake. Made it soft and falling apart. I'd bet wax is the way to go, as with newer holsters.

Thanks guys.
we've got a snow storm that's supposed to blanket us in for a day. So I'll hit them up with the saddle soap first then look around for the next step.
